LESTER PRAIRIE, MN Principal Nat Boyer presented results from a recent survey during last Monday’s school board meeting that indicate Lester Prairie students feel comfortable and safe at school.
According to the survey, through the PACT (Putting All Communities Together) for Families Collaborative, 83 percent of Lester Prairie students feel positive about their school
The survey also indicated 83 percent of Lester Prairie students noted there is an adult at the school they would feel comfortable talking to about their problems.
Of these, 58 percent said that person is a teacher; 28 percent would talk to the counselor; 10 percent would talk to administration; and 4 percent would talk to another staff person.
Ninety-five percent of students said they feel safe at school, and 93 percent said they would tell someone if they knew another student had a gun at school.
Ninety-seven percent of students stated in the last two months, they have not carried a gun or knife to school.
Asked if they had used tobacco, E-cigarettes, alcohol, marijuana, or drugs prescribed to someone else in the past 30 days, 97 percent of students said they had not.
