Delano School Board awarded a bid for the redesign of the secondary building to Breitbach Construction Co. of Elrosa during last Monday’s meeting.
The total bid for the project is $28,172,500.
Superintendent Matt Schoen also updated the board on the progress of some of the projects already in progress on campus.
He noted that all of the trees are gone on the northwest corner of the site for the new intermediate school, as well the as land excavation to make it more level.
Schoen also noted that the time frame for the elementary expansion is on target.
“We should be finishing that project by the end of next month,” Schoen said. “That’s going to be a good project to have finished. I know the elementary school is looking forward to having some expanded space.”
Schoen also noted that work on the community ed building will be delayed a bit due to logistics around the elevator. He added that the expected completion date could be the end of January, but more likely, the first week of February.
