DELANO, MN Area residents will once again be able to ice skate at Central Park in Delano.
The Delano City Council authorized ice rink operations at the park for the upcoming winter months.
Boards will be placed on the large concrete pad at Central Park for skating. Another set of boards will be purchased by the city for about $800 and constructed by the Delano Jaycees to be used for pick-up hockey.
Another change is that the city will hire a part-time attendant to staff a warming house in the building used as a beer stand during the 4th of July. Hours for the warming house will be 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday; noon to 8 p.m. Saturday; and noon to 4 p.m. Sunday.
Funds for the materials and the attendant will come from the community services budget of the general fund.
