Dassel-Cokato High School students Anders Peterson and Nicholas Little were nominated and accepted for participation in the 2020 Dorian Band Festival, at Luther College in Decorah, IA.
The festival took place March 1 and 2.
Anders earned placement in the Noble Band playing alto saxophone, while Nicholas earned a spot in the Sperati Band playing trumpet.
Both students received their music prior to the festival so they could practice individually.
They practiced with the conductor and entire ensemble during the day and a half that they spent at Luther, before performing in the concert.
The Noble Band was directed by Kristin Tjornehoj from the University of Wisconsin, River Falls; and the Sperati Band was directed by Gary P. Gilroy from California State University, Fresno.
Both Anders and Nicholas are appreciative of the support they received from staff and students involved with the music program at DC. They said they were honored to be able to participate in the Dorian experience with approximately 500 other musicians from across the Midwest.
