Chocolate Caramel 'Yummy' Bars

14 oz. pkg. caramels

1/3 cup evaporated milk

Remove wrap from caramels and melt with milk in microwave or double boiler.

1/2 cup margarine

1/3 cup evaporated milk

1 pkg. German chocolate cake mix

Combine in large bowl. Spread 1/2 mixture in bottom of 8 1/2 x 13-inch cake pan. Bake 10 minutes at 350°.

1/2 cup chopped nuts

1 cup semi sweet chocolate chips

Sprinkle baked mixture with above. Top with caramel mixture and dot with remaining cake mixture. Bake an additional 18-22 minutes. Bars will appear soft and underbaked. Overbaking will result in hard edges. Cool completely.
