Favorite Cherry Coffee Cake

1 1/2 cups flour

2/3 cup sugar

2 1/2 tsp baking powder

1/4 tsp. salt

1/4 cup shortening

3/4 cup milk

Heat oven to 375° Grease 8x8 baking pan.

Blend all ingredients. Spread in pan.

Top with 1/2 can cherry pie filling. Followed by crumb topping. Bake about 30 minutes.

Crumb topping

1/3 cup brown sugar

1/4 cup flour

1/2 tsp. cinnamon

3 T. margarine

Combine and sprinkle over top of coffeecake.
