1 package refrigerator crescent roll dough
Canned poppy seed filling
1 egg, beaten
1/2 cup confectioner's sugar
1 T. boiling water
1 tsp. lemon juice
Garnish - Chopped walnuts, almonds, poppy seed, candied fruit rinds.
Carefully unroll dough on board in front of you. With floured fingers, gently pressed down on manufacturer's perforations where dough is divided into individual rolls. Spread dough with thin layer of poppy seed filling. Roll-up jellyroll fashion. Place on baking sheet. Brush with beaten egg. Bake according to package directions.
When cooled, make glaze by blending sugar, boiling water and lemon juice. Sprinkle icing with your choice of nuts or candied fruit rinds.
