Chocolate Crumb Neapolitan Freeze

1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

1/4 cup margarine or butter

1/3 cup chopped nuts

1 1/2 cups vanilla wafer crumbs

1 quart strawberry ice cream, softened

1 quart vanilla ice cream, softened

Melt chocolate chips, margarine and stir in nuts and crumbs. Pat 1/3 mixture in bottom of 9x9-inch pan. Spread with strawberry ice cream over crumbs.Sprinkle with 1/3 crumb mixture. Repeat with vanilla ice cream and top with remaining crumb mixture. Cover and freeze until firm, about 4 hours.

Options: add chopped strawberries or bananas with middle layer of crumb mixture.

Remove from freezer 1/2 hour prior to serving to thaw slightly.
