Christmas Cheesecake

This recipe, from Milo Kubasch of Winsted, won honorable mention in the dessert competition of a bake sale at Holy Trinity Catholic Church during the 1998 Winsted Winter Festival:

2-8 oz. pkg. cream cheese, softened

3/4 cup sugar

4 large eggs

1/3 cup wheat germ

1 tsp. vanilla

Preheat oven to 350°. Butter sides and bottom of 9-inch deep pie plate or 8x8x2 cake pan. Cream the cheese and sugar on high. Beat in eggs one at a time, until fluffy. Stir in vanilla. Pour mixture into pan. Bake 10 minutes.

Remove from oven and sprinkle with wheat germ. Return to oven and bake for 25 minutes or until set. Cool 30 minutes, then chill.
