Herbed Rice Mix

3 pounds white rice

2 cups dried celery flakes

2/3 cups dried onion

1/2 cup dried parsley

2 T dried chives

1 T. tarragon

3-4 tsp. salt

2 tsp. pepper

Combine all ingredients and store in air tight container.

Prepare using the following proportions:

1 serving

2/3 cup water

1 tsp. butter

Bring to boil in saucepan. Add 1/4 cup rice mixture. Simmer covered 20 minutes. Let stand 3-4 minutes. Fluff with fork.

4 servings

2 2/3 cups water

1 T. butter

1 cup rice mixture

Prepare as above.

This can also be used as part of a holiday gift basket.
