Wright County honors CROW

The Wright County 2012 Outstanding Conservationist of the Year Award was recently presented to the Crow River Organization of Water (CROW).

Diane Sander and Dan Nadeau of the CROW have brought conservation to Wright County in many ways, including the annual Crow River Clean Up, rain barrel program, photo contest, and many educational programs and activities.

They also monitor water quality, engage volunteers, and sponsor watershed studies.

Sander and Nadeau have had tremendous success in partnering with local agencies to get water quality projects on the ground, such as rain gardens, and shoreland and agricultural stabilization projects.

The CROW is a Joint Powers organization that covers the Crow River watershed and includes portions of 10 counties.

The Wright Soil and Water Conservation District selected the CROW for the award, which was presented in December at the annual convention of the Minnesota Association of Soil and Water Conservation Districts.
