One candidate for McLeod County Commissioner
The county commissioner seat served by Ray Bayerl is open in District 1.
Why are you running for office?
I’ve enjoyed representing the First District and I’d like to continue. I believe my 18 years of experience will benefit the people of the First District during the upcoming term. I enjoy working for the people and helping them anyway I can.
What do you think are two major issues at this time, and what do you propose to do about them?
McLeod County’s debt is near the lowest in the state, and I would like to keep it that way. Keeping taxes in line is a big job in light of state mandates and state cuts to counties. The state is looking at a big short fall in their budget next year, which will affect counties in how they do their budgets. It’s important that we keep our roads and county buildings in good repair.
Why should you be elected?
To continue to serve the people of the First District. I’m always available by phone to help find a solution to their problems. I have always tried to keep the peoples’ best interest first in mind.
