Wright County Sheriff
One person has filed for the position of Wright County Sheriff, Joe Hagerty.
This candidate did not return the requested questionnaire, but did provide this statement:
My name is Joe Hagerty, and I’m running for the office of sheriff in Wright County.
I’m 48 years old, married with three children, and live in St Michael.
I’m a lifelong resident of Wright County, and have been employed by the Wright County Sheriff’s Office for the past 25 years.
I have worked in many capacities within the sheriff’s office, including corrections, communications, patrol deputy, K9 officer, patrol sergeant, patrol lieutenant, and, for the past four years, as chief deputy for Sheriff Gary Miller.
I have chosen to run for the office of sheriff for many reasons. I have been fortunate to have worked for, and learned from, three experienced sheriffs Darrell Wolff, Don Hozempa, and Gary Miller.
All three sheriffs have led this organization by emphasizing citizens’ rights and quality of life issues.
I plan on continuing this tradition. I want to lead an organization that exhibits professionalism, integrity, fairness, and more importantly, cares for the citizens we’re charged to protect.
The members of our sheriff’s office are extremely competent individuals who work well as a team.
One of the important issues the elected sheriff will face is maintaining the excellent working relationships we share with other team players involved with public safety in Wright County.
I will work diligently in making sure Wright County will continue to be an enjoyable, safe place to live and raise our families.
I humbly ask for your support in November’s election.
