WORK SESSION MINUTES

Tuesday, September 6, 2005

HLWW High School Media Center

The School Board work Session Meeting of the Howard Lake-Waverly-Winsted ISD #2687 was called to order at 7:04 pm., on September 6, 2005. Roll was taken with the following members present: Weber, Schaible, Lideen, Hammer, Custer, Doering, and Borrell. Also present were Superintendent George Ladd, Principals Mike Day, Dean Wessman and Jennifer Olson, and Board Secretary Marilyn Greeley.

Borrell motioned to approve the agenda; Weber seconded; passed unanimously.

(Item V) there were no requests or comments from visitors.

(Item VI, Subd. A) Each board member gave a brief update on committees.

(Item VI, Subd. B) Ladd gave a brief report.

(Item VII, Subd. A) Mr. Bush from the High School English Department reviewed concerns about the time position in the English position.

(Item VII, Subd. B) Gary Nyber, SGN Architect, reviewed the site plan and discussed the facilities proposal.

Weber motioned to consider one question including the new high school, remodeling and additions at the elementaries, bus garage and ball fields; Doering seconded; all voted in favor, motion passes.

Schaible motioned for a 25 year bond; Custer seconded; passed unanimously.

Weber motioned to table the next two agenda items for the next work session; Schaible seconded; passed unanimously.

(Item VIII) Lideen reviewed next meeting dates:

BUILD Committee Meeting –September 7, at 7 p.m.

Buildings & Grounds Committee Meeting – September 12, 8 a.m.

Negotiations Committee Meeting – September 19, 4:30 p.m.

Regular board meeting – September 19, 2005 7 p.m. High School Media Center

Next Work Session – October 3, 2005 7 p.m. High School Media Center

Brochure Committee Meeting – September 14th at 7:30 a.m.

Budget meeting –September 12th at 4:30 p.m.

DCAC – September 12th at 3:30 p.m.

Laker Pride – September 12th at 6:30 p.m.

Schaible motioned to adjourn at 9:23 p.m.; Weber seconded; passed unanimously.
