|SCHOOL BOARD WORK SESSION MEETING
Monday February 28, 2011
HLWW Board Room
The February 28, 2011 School Board Work Session meeting of the Howard Lake-Waverly-Winsted ISD #2687 was called to order at 6:10 p.m. by Chairman Schaible. After the pledge of allegiance roll was taken with the following members present: Schaible, Weber, Weibel, Wiech, Heuer Kocher, and Tintes. Also present were Superintendent Brad Sellner, SMS Financial Consultants, Todd Netzke and Bill Menozzi, and Board Secretary Marilyn Greeley.
(Item IV) Schaible requested to add Item F-Discussion on School View; Heuer motioned to approve the agenda with the addition; Wiech seconded; passed unanimously.
(Item V) There were no questions or comments from visitors.
(Item VI, Subd. A) SMS Consultant Todd Netzke, reviewed the Fund Balance Policy.
(Item VI, Subd. B) SMS Consultant Todd Netzke, reviewed the preliminary budget information for 2011-12.
(Item VI, Subd. C) SMS Consultant Todd Netzke, reviewed the proposed Actuarial study. Heuer motioned to approve the contract with SMS at $60 per hour not to exceed 100 hours; Tintes seconded; passed unanimously.
(Item VI, Subd. D) Schaible reported the consensus of the board was to move forward with the rain garden project.
(Item VI, Subd. E) Superintendent Sellner reviewed the options for preschool at Winsted Elementary.
(Item VI, Subd. F) Tintes asked about school view. Sellner said he would talk to administration about school view.

(Item VIII) Items for regular board meeting
• Approve expenditures for 2011-12
• Approval of the City rain garden project at the middle school
• Resolutions discontinuing and/or reducing programs & positions
• Approve Handbook changes
• Employment Recommendation
Wiech motioned to adjourn at 7:40 p.m.; Tintes seconded; passed unanimously.
