HLWW SPECIAL SCHOOL BOARD MEETING MINUTES
TRUTH-IN-TAXATION HEARING TUES., DEC. 2, 1997
7:30 P.M. - HL-W-W HIGH SCHOOL MEDIA CENTER
The Truth-in-Taxation Hearing Special School Board Meeting of Howard Lake-Waverly-Winsted ISD #2687 was called to order at 7:30 p.m. by Vice Chairperson Mary Pettit. Following the Pledge of Allegiance, roll call was taken. Members present: Carol Fury, Mike Steckelberg, Leo Weber, Richard Lammers, Mary Pettit, Gene Lorentz, Randy Heuer, Charles Weber, Ken Zimmerman, James Fowler. Members absent: James Raymond. Also present was Superintendent Hoheisel and four (4) community members.
Superintendent Hoheisel reviewed tax related information from the Department of Children, Families and Learning and the Wright County Auditor's Office, including comparisons to previous years' taxes. A short discussion ensued relative to property valuation and taxes. It was suggested that the individuals contact the Wright County Auditor's Office regarding their specific property valuation increases.
Lorentz made a motion to officially acknowledge that HL-W-W ISD #2687 does not have available space which could be used as an alternative to Maple Lake Public Schools plan to construct additions to the elementary and high school buildings; second by L. Weber; passed unanimously.
Six hour cleaner/sweeper, Leone Miller, withdrew her letter of resignation. Lorentz made a motion to approve Leone Miller for an eight hour cleaner/sweeper position; second by Zimmerman; passed unanimously.
Superintendent Hoheisel reviewed the upcoming holiday school concert dates and the date for the next Buildings and Grounds Meeting. (It was requested the Buildings and Grounds Meeting be changed.) He also informed the Board of the following:
1) the District has received a $3000 grant from the Wright County Collaborative to be used for the Teen Center (Youth Center),
2) a copy of the HL-W-W School Policy (KG/DFD) relative to facility use was sent to Humphrey Museum Director Irene Bender.
With no further business to discuss, Steckelberg made a motion to adjourn; second by Heuer; passed unanimously. The meeting adjourned at 8:24 p.m.
