HLWW School District 2687 Board Minutes
SPECIAL SCHOOL BOARD
MONDAY, DECEMBER 7, 1998
7:30 P.M., HL-W-W HIGH SCHOOL MEDIA CENTER
A Special School Board Meeting (Truth-In-Taxation Hearing) was called to order on Monday, December 7, 1998, at 7:30 p.m., by Chairperson James Raymond. Following the Pledge of Allegiance, roll call was taken with the following members present: Gene Lorentz, Mike Steckelberg, Richard Lammers, James Fowler, James Raymond, Charles Weber, Mary Pettit, Ken Zimmerman, and Leo Weber. Members absent: Carol Fury, Randy Heuer. Superintendent Hoheisel was also present.
Lammers made a motion to approve the Agenda; second by L. Weber; passed unanimously.
Board members discussed the Proposed 1998 Payable 1999 Property Tax Levy and the 13% decrease. Superintendent Hoheisel reviewed levy information and comparisons of area school districts. Because this was a hearing, no Board action was taken. Official action will be taken during the December 21, 1998, Regular School Board Meeting. There were no community members present for the hearing.
The Superintendent's Report included the following:
The next meeting of the Buildings and Grounds Committee will include a tour of the three school buildings, on Tues., December 29, at 10:00 a.m.
The District has received a collaborative grant in the amount of $40,000.
The Board was updated relative to a special education student placement.
The Comparable Worth Report process has begun.
The meeting adjourned on a motion by Pettit; second by Steckelberg; passed unanimously.
