The Howard Lake City Council adopted Ordinance No. 18.02 on August 6, 2013 regulating burning in the City of Howard Lake including recreational/camp fires. Generally, recreational fires burning permitted materials are allowed in a contained pit no larger than 3 feet in diameter at a reasonable distance from all structures and with an extinguishing source nearby, unless prohibited in certain circumstances. Open burning will continue to be permitted during specific times each year as allowed by Chapter 5.01.
