August 21, 2006 Pursuant to posted public notice, the Lester Prairie City Council met in special session on Monday, August 21, 2006. The purpose of said special session was to review, discuss and work on the 2007 budget. Clerk Pawelk provided an overview of the budget as proposed. Discussion took place. General consensus of the City Council was to adjust the various budget line items as follows: Decrease General Fund liquor license revenue by $2,000.00; Street Fund – increase maintenance and repairs to $30,000.00 and engineering to $5,000.0; Fire Truck Fund – retain the levied amount of $17,000.00 for future truck replacement. With these additional items, it appears the levy increase would be approximately 7%.
