Lester Prairie City Council Minutes

June 11, 2007

The Lester Prairie City Council met in regular session on Monday, June 11, 2007.

Mayor Angvall called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m.

Motion - Foust; Second - Hoof; Carried - Unanimously; To accept and approve the May Minutes as submitted.

Motion - Hoof; Second - Heimerl; Carried - Unanimously; To accept and approve the May Treasurer’s Report as submitted.

General consensus of the City Council was to schedule the pool to be closed on June 25th (unless there is a rain day prior to that date so they can do the work early) so work can be done on the bathhouse floors.

Councilmember Heimerl introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 20-07 A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF AN ADDITIONAL PHOSPHORUS REDUCTION GRANT FROM THE STATE OF MINNESOTA The foregoing motion was duly seconded by Councilmember Foust and following discussion thereon, a vote was taken. Mayor Angvall declared Resolution No. 20-07 adopted by a unanimous vote this 11th day of June, 2007.

Councilmember Hoof introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 21-07 A RESOLUTION REQUESTING AN INFORMAL EXPEDITED AGREEMENT WITH OSHA The foregoing motion was duly seconded by Councilmember Mallak and following discussion thereon, a vote was taken. Mayor Angvall declared Resolution No. 21-07 adopted by a unanimous vote this 11th day of June, 2007.

General consensus of the City Council was to set an Appeals Hearing for Diane Olson on June 28th, 2007, at 9:00 a.m. in city hall. Mayor Angvall, Councilmembers Foust and Mallak will serve as the Appeals Board.

Councilmember Hoof introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 22-07 RESOLUTION RECEIVING REPORT FOR ALLEY RE-CONSTRUCTION The foregoing motion was duly seconded by Councilmember Heimerl and following discussion thereon, a vote was taken. Mayor Angvall declared Resolution No. 22-07 adopted by a majority vote this 11th day of June, 2007.

Councilmember Hoof introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 23-07 A RESOLUTION CONTRACTING WITH BOLTON & MENK, INC. FOR ENGINEERING SERVICES FOR THE RE-CONSTRUCTION OF A DOWNTOWN ALLEYWAY The foregoing motion was duly seconded by Councilmember Heimerl and following discussion thereon, a vote was taken. Mayor Angvall declared Resolution No. 23-07 adopted by a unanimous vote this 11th day of June, 2007.

Councilmember Mallak introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 24-07 A RESOLUTION ADOPTING AN INTERNAL CONTROLS POLICY. The foregoing motion was duly seconded by Councilmember Hoof and following discussion thereon, a vote was taken. Mayor Angvall declared Resolution No. 2407 adopted by a unanimous vote this 11th day of June, 2007.

Motion - Mallak; Second - Heimerl; Carried - Unanimously; To send a letter of support to the City of Glencoe regarding the Municipal Airport and its inclusion in the National Plan of Integrated Airport Systems.

Councilmember Mallak introduced the following ordinance and moved for its adoption: ORDINANCE NO. 269 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 2.4 OF THE LESTER PRAIRIE MUNICIPAL CODE REGARDING WATERWORKS AND PROVIDING FOR WATER METERS TO BE READ BY RADIO The foregoing motion was duly seconded by Councilmember Hoof and following discussion thereon, a vote was taken. Mayor Angvall declared Ordinance No. 269 adopted by a unanimous vote this 11th day of June, 2007.

Motion - Heimerl; Second - Foust; Carried - Unanimously; To pay the claims as submitted.

Mayor Angvall adjourned the meeting at 9:04 p.m.
