Lester Prairie City Council Minutes
May 5, 2008
Pursuant to posted public notice, the Lester Prairie City Council met in special session on Monday, May 5, 2008. The purpose of said special session was to meet with the McLeod County Highway Department regarding the realignment of County Road 23 at the County Road 9 intersection and to discuss the Safe Routes to School Project.
Mayor Angvall called the meeting to order at 6:30 p.m..
McLeod County Highway Engineer John Brunkhorst presented possible options for work to be done on County Road 23 and County Road 9.
Jake Saulsbury was in attendance to discuss the Safe Routes to School Trail Grant Project. He presented the 3 options the City has for completing this project.
Motion - Angvall; Second - Foust; Motion - Failed; To proceed with the trail project as designed however, put in a temporary trail in the area of County Road 23.
Councilmember Foust requested that since McLeod County Highway Department representatives were here, discussion take place regarding the width expansion and maintenance of Second Avenue South to the West. It was stated that road as well as County Road 23 within the City limits are deteriorating and are in need of maintenance.
Mayor Angvall adjourned the meting at 7:55 p.m.
