Lester Prairie City Council Minutes
April 20, 2009
Pursuant to public notice, the Lester Prairie City Council met in special session on Monday, April 20, 2009. Acting Mayor Hoof called the meeting to order at 6:30 p.m.
The purpose of said special session was to meet as Local Board of Review and to discuss and take possible action regarding the Safe Routes to School Grant Project.
Assessor Sue Schultz provided an overview of the valuations, sales, and sales ratio for the City. She noted that sale of property within the City was over 100% of the valuations and therefore, the majority of property received a reduction in the valuations.
Motion - Mallak; Second - Foust; Carried - Unanimously; To recommend and authorize the valuation for the property at 104 John Street be lowered to $185,600.00 and the valuation for the property at 1213 Blake Avenue be lowered to $195,500.00
General consensus of the City Council was that if the Assessor’s Office viewed the property at 211 Oak Street South, as well as, the property owned by Dan Heimerl where is detached garage is located and determines the valuations need adjustment, she is authorized and directed to bring her recommendations to the McLeod County Board of Review as the City would be in agreement with her recommendations.
Councilmember Mallak introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 12-09 A RESOLUTION OF ACCEPTANCE AND INTENT REGARDING AWARDING THE SAFE ROUTES TO SCHOOL CONSTRUCTION PROJECT The foregoing motion was duly seconded by Councilmember Foust and following discussion thereon, a vote was taken.
