Lester Prairie City Council Minutes
April 13, 2010
The Lester Prairie City Council met in regular session on Tuesday, April 13, 2010. Mayor Heimerl called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m.
Motion Foust; Second Messer; Carried Unanimously; To accept and approve the March Minutes as submitted.
Motion Mallak; Second Hoof; Carried Unanimously; To accept and approve the March Treasurer’s Report as submitted.
Mayor Heimerl introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 12-10 A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE SOLICITATION OF QUOTES FOR SEAL COATING The foregoing motion was duly seconded by Councilmember Messer and following discussion, a vote thereon was taken. Mayor Heimerl declared Resolution No. 12-10 adopted by a unanimous vote this 13th day of April, 2010.
Councilman Mallak introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 13-10 A RESOLUTION AWARDING SEAL COATING WORK FOR THE CITY OF LESTER PRAIRIE The foregoing motion was duly seconded by Councilman Hoof and following discussion thereon, a vote was taken. Mayor Heimerl declared Resolution No. 13-10 adopted by a unanimous vote this 13th day of April, 2010.
Motion Hoof; Second Mallak; Carried Unanimously; To have Aqua Logic of Waconia repair pool tile and pump piping with the cost not to exceed $3,900.00.
Motion Foust; Second Hoof; Carried Unanimously; To authorize an additional $1,000.00, if needed, for the office computer replacement/upgrade.
Motion Heimerl; Second Hoof; Carried Unanimously; To accept the quote from the League of MN Cities for Worker’s Compensation Insurance at the deductible of $250.00 and premium of $15,800.00.
Motion Hoof; Second Mallak; Carried To authorize the Mayor and City Clerk to enter into an agreement on behalf of the City of Lester Prairie with Litzau Excavating for the disposal of industrial waste from Midwest Machinery Inc.
Motion Foust; Second Mallak; Carried Unanimously; To keep the compost site hours the same as 2009 which were from 4-8 p.m. Mondays and Thursdays and from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. on Saturdays.
Motion Hoof; Second Mallak; Carried Unanimously; To re-hire Clifford Gueningsman and Larry Burandt to monitor the compost site at the same rate of compensation as 2009.
Motion Heimerl; Second Foust; Carried To have the City’s sign reinstalled at the estimated cost of $125.00 for materials.
Motion Hoof; Second Foust; Carried Unanimously; To not pursue obtaining reimbursement from FEMA for the snow melt/flood issue for 2010.
Motion Heimerl; Second Hoof; Carried Unanimously; To issue a corporate license with the expiration date of December 31, 2010, to Cents Pizza for seven coin device machines.
Motion Hoof; Second Foust; Carried Unanimously; To inform McLeod County there are no objections to the variance request submitted by Andrew Birkholz to increase the size of a directional sign.
Motion Heimerl; Second Messer; Carried Unanimously; To accept and approve the 3 month actual budget as submitted.
Motion Messer; Second Mallak; Carried Unanimously; To enter into an agreement with Kahnke Brothers Inc. of Victoria for the spring opening and fall closing of the sprinkler/irrigation system at the downtown park.
Motion Messer; Second Heimerl; Carried Unanimously; To authorize Gail Nobel to construct a 20’ x 20’ wild flower garden at the East end of Central Park as part of her Master Naturalist certification.
Motion Hoof; Second Mallak; Carried Unanimously; To authorize the placement of a 4’6” x 9’4” concrete apron for the chlorine cabinet at the swimming pool.
Motion Foust; Second Messer; Carried Unanimously; To pay the claims as submitted.
Mayor Heimerl adjourned the meeting at 9:20 p.m.
