Lester Prairie City Council
November 8, 2011
Pursuant to public notice of the time change, the Lester Prairie City Council met on Tuesday, November 8, 2011. Acting Mayor Angvall called the meeting to order at 8:00 p.m.
Motion Foust; Second Messer; Carried Unanimously; To accept and approve the October Minutes as submitted.
Motion Messer; Second Foust; Carried Unanimously; To accept and approve the October Treasurer’s Report as submitted.
Motion Foust; Second Messer; Carried Unanimously; To have Councilman Mallak talk to the owners of the property at 100 Maple Street South and see if they would be willing to donate the land to the City or what options are possible and bring information back to the December meeting.
Councilmember Foust introduced the following ordinance and moved for its adoption: ORDINANCE NO. 297 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE WATER RATES AND SEWER RATES IN THE CITY OF LESTER PRAIRIE AND AMENDING THE MUNICIPAL CODE ACCORDINGLY The foregoing motion was duly seconded by Councilman Messer and following discussion thereon, a vote was taken. Acting Mayor Angvall declared Ordinance No. 297 adopted by a unanimous vote this 8th day of November, 2011.
Councilmember Foust introduced the following ordinance and moved for its adoption: ORDINANCE NO. 296 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 2, SPECIFICALLY SECTION 2.8 SANITATION, IN THE CITY OF LESTER PRAIRIE AND AMENDING THE MUNICIPAL CODE ACCORDINGLY The foregoing motion was duly seconded by Councilman Messer and following discussion thereon, a vote was taken. Acting Mayor Angvall declared Ordinance No. 296 adopted by a unanimous vote this 8th day of November, 2011.
Motion Mallak; Second Foust; Carried Unanimously; To not increase the bio-solid disposal charge to the cities of Mayer, Carver and Greenfield for 2012.
Councilman Foust introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 39-11 A RESOLUTION ACCEPTING A GRANT FROM THE STATE OF MINNESOTA, DEPARTMENT OF NATURAL RESOURCES, STATE FORESTRY The motion was duly seconded by Councilman Mallak and following discussion thereon, a vote was taken. Acting Mayor Angvall declared Resolution No. 39-11 adopted by a unanimous vote this 8th day of November, 2011.
Motion Messer; Second Mallak; Carried Unanimously; To trade in the 2010 Kubota mower for a 2012 model at the net cost of $4,000.00 to the City.
Motion Angvall; Second Foust; Carried Unanimously; The Christmas pole decorations and banners should be removed from the poles after the holiday season, as well as the brackets. This will allow time for Councilman Messer to consider if is feasible to relocate the brackets, get quotes on sandblasting and re-painting the poles, check into the purchase of new banners, funding, etc.
Motion Mallak; Second Messer; Carried Unanimously; To pay the claims as submitted.
Acting Mayor Angvall adjourned the meeting at 8:50 p.m.
