ORDINANCE NO. 300
AN ORDINANACE AMENDING
SPECIFICALLY SECTION 184.108.40.206,
DETACHED ACCESSORY BUILDINGS AND AMENDING THE
MUNICIPAL CODE ACCORDINGLY
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LESTER PRAIRIE ORDAINS:
Section 1. Section 5.1 of the Municipal Code ZONING, Subdivision 220.127.116.11 ACCESSORY BUILDINGS DETACHED, RESIDENTIAL DISTRICTS shall be amended so the third paragraph is deleted in its entirety and there inserted in its place shall be the following third paragraph:
“Detached accessory buildings in Residential (R1 and R2) Districts, shall be one story, not to exceed ten (10) foot eave height, measured from the bottom of the trusses to the nominal finished grade height, and shall not exceed an overall height of twenty-five (25) feet at the highest point. Measurement to be taken from the gable end of a pitched roof, or the highest point of a flat roof, to the nominal finished height of grade and shall not exceed the roof height of the primary building. The detached accessory building shall not occupy more than ten (10) percent of the total lot area. Chimney and sewage vent pipes shall not be included in the overall height of said buildings. Cupolas and vent structures, including but not limited to continuous turbine vents, are included in the overall height measurements.”
Section 2.Section 5.1 of the Municipal Code ZONING, Subdivision 18.104.22.168 ACCESSORY BUILDINGS DETACHED, RESIDENTIAL DISTRICTS shall be amended so the following fourth paragraph is added:
“Any detached accessory building that is the primary building on any Residential (R1 and R2) District lot shall conform to existing structures in the same area, so as to maintain continuity to the surrounding area”
Section 3.This Ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage and publication.
