School Board of Education
6:30 p.m. Monday, March 30, 2009

A special meeting of the Board of Education of District 424, Lester Prairie, McLeod County, Minnesota was held on Monday, March 30, 2009, in the school Media Center.
The meeting was called to order by Fred Blaser at 6:30 p.m. Roll call was taken and the following Board Members were present: Fred Blaser, Chester Hoernemann, Joe Miller, Rawelin Radtke, Jim Jorgenson and Karla Heigl. The Administration present included: Pam Lukens and Scott Fitzsimonds. Greg East was absent.
The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Chester Hoernemann.
There were approximately 42 members of the public present at the meeting. Fred Blaser recommended revising the consent agenda for the meeting to allow for open dialogue from the public.
Chester Hoernemann made a motion to revise the consent agenda for this meeting to allow for open dialogue from the public. Jim Jorgenson seconded the motion. The motion passed with a 6-0 vote.
Joe Miller made a motion to approve the revised consent agenda for this meeting. Chester Hoernemann seconded the motion. The motion passed with a 6-0 vote.
During the Public Input portion of the meeting approximately 12 individuals addressed the School Board of Education by giving recommendations and opinions on the proposed reductions for the 2009-2010 school year.
Jim Jorgenson made a motion to approve the board resolution placing Kelsey Buchholz on Unrequested Leave of Absence. Chester Hoernemann seconded the motion. Roll call vote was taken. Those voting yes were Fred Blaser, Chester Hoernemann, Joe Miller, Rawelin Radtke, Jim Jorgenson and Karla Heigl. There were no members voting no. The motion passed with a 6-0 vote.
Joe Miller made a motion to approve the board resolution placing Tracy Cederstrom on Unrequested Leave of Absence. Jim Jorgenson seconded the motion. Those voting yes were Fred Blaser, Chester Hoernemann, Joe Miller, Rawelin Radtke, and Jim Jorgenson. Those voting no were Karla Heigl. The motion passed with a 5-1 vote.
Fred Blaser made a motion to approve the board resolution of non-renewal of Joey Bayerl. Joe Miller seconded the motion. Those voting yes were Fred Blaser, Chester Hoernemann, Joe Miller, Rawelin Radtke, Jim Jorgenson and Karla Heigl. There were no members voting no. The motion passed with a 6-0 vote.
The meeting was adjourned at 7:05 p.m.
