| LESTER PRAIRIE PUBLIC SCHOOLS REORGANIZATIONAL MEETING Wednesday, January 9, 2013, 6:30 pm The Reorganizational Meeting of School District #424, Lester Prairie, McLeod County, Minnesota was held on Wednesday, January 9, 2013, at the Lester Prairie Public Schools Media Center. Roll call was taken and the following board members were present: Gregg Machemehl, Karla Heigl, MerriLea Kyllo, Rawelin Radtke, Robert Carlson and Matthew Klitzke. Approximately four guests were present, as well as Ivan Raconteur from the Herald Journal Newspaper. Pledge of Allegiance was led by Matthew Klitzke. Acceptance and Oath of Office by new and re-elected Lester Prairie School Board Members – Karla Heigl, Rawelin Radtke and MerriLea Kyllo. The Board expressed their thanks to Joseph Miller for his service to the Lester Prairie School during his term on the Board. Mr. Scoblic made a plaque for Mr. Miller in recognition of his time on the Board. Motion by Gregg Machemehl, seconded by Matthew Klitzke, to approve the Agenda for the Reorganizational Meeting. Voting was 6 for and 0 against. Election of Officers Motion by Gregg Machemehl, seconded by MerriLea Kyllo, to elect Robert Carlson as Chairperson. Voting was 6 for and 0 against. Motion by Rawelin Radtke, seconded by Gregg Machemehl, to elect Karla Heigl as Vice Chairperson. Voting was 6 for and 0 against. Motion by Karla Heigl, seconded by Gregg Machemehl, to elect Matthew Klitzke as Board Clerk. Voting was 6 for and 0 against. Motion by Robert Carlson, seconded by Gregg Machemehl, to elect Rawelin Radtke as Board Treasurer. Voting was 6 for and 0 against. School Board Meetings Motion by Rawelin Radtke, seconded by MerriLea Kyllo, to approve the 2013 School Board Meetings to be held in the Lester Prairie School Media Center at 6:30 pm on the dates listed below: February 13 March 18 April 15 May 20 June 17 July 15 August 19 September 16 October 21 November 18 December 16 Voting was 6 for and 0 against. Motion by Robert Carlson, seconded by Gregg Machemehl, to approve Board salaries for 2013 as follows: 0-3 Hours at $40 4-6 Hours at $90 >6 Hours at $140 Chairperson $15 extra per meeting chaired Clerk $30 extra per meeting Treasurer $15 extra per meeting Negotiations chairs $10 extra per meeting Voting was 6 for and 0 against. Submitted Item for 2013: Motion by Robert Carlson, seconded by Karla Heigl, to approve the following submitted items for 2013: a. The First Community Bank of Lester Prairie and the Minnesota District Liquid Asset Fund Plus as official depositories for district funds and to approve a resolution to give check signing authority for deposits to Treasurer Radtke, Chairperson Carlson, and Clerk Klitzke. b. Designate the Herald Journal as the official legal publication for District #424 for the 2013 calendar year. c. Mileage reimbursement rate of $.10 per mile less than the set federal rate for the year (federal rate is $.56.5/mile). d. Annual delegation of authority designating Payroll Specialist Kelly Elling, Business Manager Alice Daak, and Superintendent Mike McNulty for Electronic Funds Transfers (EFT’s) on behalf of Lester Prairie Schools. Voting was 6 for and 0 against. Motion by Robert Carlson, seconded by Gregg Machemehl, to approve the following Board Committees for 2013: A. Special Education – Matthew Klitzke and Karla Heigl B. Community Ed. – Gregg Machemehl and Rawelin Radtke C. LPPEA – Rawelin Radtke and Karla Heigl D. Continuing Ed. – Gregg Machemehl and Rawelin Radtke E. Facilities Maintenance/Improvement – Robert Carlson, Gregg Machemehl and Rawelin Radtke F. Tech/Tele Media – Matthew Klitzke and MerriLea Kyllo G. Legislative/MSBA – MerriLea Kyllo H. Athletics/Activities – Karla Heigl, MerriLea Kyllo and Rawelin Radtke I. Budget/Finance – Robert Carlson and Rawelin Radtke J. Bus/Transportation – Robert Carlson and Matthew Klitzke K. Hot Lunch – Robert Carlson and Karla Heigl L. Negotiations-Certified – Robert Carlson, Karla Heigl, Rawelin Radtke M. Negotiations-Non-Certified – Matthew Klitzke and MerriLea Kyllo N.
