TRUTH & TAXATION MEETING OF THE SCHOOL BOARD OF EDUCATION

Monday, December 16th, 2013
at 6:30 p.m.
Lester Prairie School Media Center
The Truth & Taxation Meeting of the Board of Education, District #424, Lester Prairie, McLeod County, Minnesota was held on Monday, December 16th, 2013, at the Lester Prairie Public Schools Media Center.
Roll call was taken and the following board members were present: MerriLea Kyllo, Bob Carlson, Karla Heigl and Matthew Klitzke. Administration present: Mike McNulty & Jeremy Schmidt. Ivan Raconteur was there from the Herald Journal Newspaper.
Pledge of Allegiance was led by Matt Klitzke.
Motion by Kyllo, seconded by Heigl to approve the certified levy in the amount of $780,713.01 for the School District of Lester Prairie. Voting was 4 for, 0 against.
Board Chair Carlson closed Truth & Taxation meeting at 6:32 p.m.

REGULAR MEETING OF THE SCHOOL BOARD OF EDUCATION

A regular meeting of the Board of Education, District #424, Lester Prairie, McLeod County, Minnesota was held on Monday, December 16th, 2013, at the Lester Prairie Public Schools Media Center.
Roll call was taken and the following board members were present: MerriLea Kyllo, Bob Carlson, Karla Heigl and Matthew Klitzke. Administration present: Mike McNulty & Jeremy Schmidt. Ivan Raconteur was there from the Herald Journal Newspaper.
Pledge of Allegiance was led by Matt Klitzke.
Motion by Kyllo, seconded by Heigl to approve the Consent Agenda as modified & to approve the minutes of the Regular Board Meeting on 11/18/2013. In the same motion, approval to pay bills in the amount of $193,837.36 & student activity fees of $766.40 were also included. Voting was 4 for, 0 against.

Policy Administration
District student count as of 12/11/2013 for K-12 is 420.
Old Business
• Update on donations/banners for business. Businesses included: First Community Bank, RAM Buildings, 4.0 School Services, AWI, ESG, Casey’s General Stores, Jilek Insurance Agency Inc., Foundation – In Memory of Doug Jilek, One Eyed Willy’s, Glencoe Regional Health, Marsden, Waconia Ford.
Personnel Issues
• Motion was made by Klitzke, seconded by Kyllo to approve the following Extracurricular contracts:
Jean Bodine – Cook’s Helper II (5 days/wk)
Jessica Fiecke – Kindergarten Para
Ross Scheevel – Jr. High Girls Basketball Coach
Voting was 4 for, 0 against.
School Finances
Budget revision in January or February (after teacher contract ratification).
New Business
• Discussion of possible storage building on Hickory St. North.
• Motion by Carlson, seconded by Klitzke to approve date of January 6th, 2014 for School Board Reorganization meeting. Voting was 4 for, 0 against.
• Motion by Carlson, seconded by Kyllo to approve Annual Report on Curriculum & Instruction. Voting was 4 for, 0 against.
• Motion by Carlson, seconded by Heigl to approve PACT grant agreement. Voting was 4 for, 0 against.

1. Elect the Chair, Vice-Chair, Clerk and Treasurer
2. Date/Time for Board meetings in 2014
3. Salary for the board

6. Mileage rate – was $.465/mile in 2012-13
