MINUTES Regular Meeting of the Board of EducationIndependent School District 879, Delano Public Schools
The regular meeting of the Board of Education of Independent School District 879, Delano, Minnesota, was held on Monday, May 18, 2009, in Delano Middle School Media Center. The meeting was called to order by the chair at 7:00 PM with the following members in attendance: Douglas, Schaust, Johnson, Milano, Gallagher and Brasket. Absent: Nelson
REPORTS AND INFORMATION FROM SCHOOL SOURCES
Board heard program reports on History Day Performance, China Club and Q-Comp.
CONSENT AGENDA (approved unanimously)
Board approved the regular meeting minutes of 4-27-09, the current budget status with year to date adjustments, investment transactions, wire transfers, Minnesota Liquid Assets fund, cash report, revenue and expense fund totals, expense reports and disbursements.
PERSONNEL
Board Approved resignation of Girls JV Basketball Coach, contract for Community Educ Director, employment of a Summer School Health Office Professional and Long-term HS Math substitute.
ADMINISTRATIVE AND BOARD REPORTS
Board heard the following administrative reports: Supt. Sweet reported on Legislative funding Omnibus Bill, State Department FY08 expenditures per pupil, and Project Lead The Way. Chair Peter Brasket reported on School of Excellence recognition ceremony; MS Prin Rene Klinkner reported on positive recognition, 4th gr parent expectations, end of year awards program and targeted services; HS Prin Matt Schoen reported on combined Sr. Scholarship & Honors pgrm with Dollars for Scholars pgrm, Athletic Banquet, receiving confirmation on the Blue Ribbon Award review process, private school shadow day and preparing for Graduation. CE Dir. Diane Johnson and Allison Holmes reported on Life Long Learning Plan; Dir. Of Bus Affairs Sarah Miller reported on energy savings, Special Education Audit.
Board heard reports from board members regarding Wright Technical Center.

CITY OF MONTROSEWRIGHT COUNTY, MINNESOTAORDINANCE NO. 2009-03AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CIVIL PENALTIES FOR LIQUOR LICENSE VIOLATIONS
In the interest of the health, safety, and welfare of its citizens, the City Council of Montrose, Minnesota hereby amends its liquor license ordinance and hereby ordains that the City Code be amended as follows:
SECTION 1 PENALTIES
§ 111.80 CIVIL PENALTIES:
(A) Upon a finding that a licensee of any license granted pursuant to the City’s Liquor Ordinance has failed to comply with an applicable statute, regulation, or ordinance relating to alcoholic beverages the City Council may issue a civil penalty consistent with its fee ordinance in addition to suspending or revoking the license consistent with City Code.
(B) Upon a finding that a licensee of a license granted pursuant to the City’s Liquor Ordinance has failed to cooperate with or respond to requests of City staff regarding possible violations of an applicable statute, regulation or ordinance relating to alcoholic beverages, the City Council may issue an additional civil penalty of $100.
SECTION 2: EFFECTIVE DATE
This ordinance becomes effective upon its passage and publication according to law,
