UNOFFICIAL SCHOOL BOARD MINUTESI.S.D. #466, BOARD OF EDUCATION7:00 PM SPECIAL BOARD MEETING, MONDAY, APRIL 5, 2010DASSEL-COKATO BOARD ROOM
In partnership with our communities, Dassel-Cokato Public Schools will provide all learners opportunities designed to maximize their potential and promote lifelong learning.
Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a special meeting of the Board of Education of Independent School District No. 466 (Dassel-Cokato, Minnesota) was duly held in the Dassel-Cokato Board Room of the Dassel-Cokato Schools, Cokato, Minnesota, on Monday, April 5, 2010.
Board Chairman Kevin Dahlman called the meeting to order at 7:00 PM.
The following members were present: Dahlman, Bender, McConkey, Tormanen and Linder. The following were absent: Bjork. Members of the community and administration were also present.
The meeting began with the pledge of allegiance.
Motion by Tormanen, seconded by McConkey, accepting the agenda as presented. Motion carried unanimously.
Motion by Linder, seconded by McConkey adopting the following goals for the 2010-11 school year:
1. Increase academic achievement of all students.
2. Increase competitiveness of all extra-curricular programs.
3. Increase Communication with Stakeholders
4. Retain more juniors and seniors attending classes full time at DCHS
Each goal was accompanied by specific action steps / objectives. Superintendent Powers and the
administrative team presented the goals and discussed them with the board members. Motion carried unanimously.
Being no further business the meeting adjourned at 8:54 PM

Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a special meeting of the Board of Education of Independent School District No. 466 (Dassel-Cokato, Minnesota) was duly held in the Dassel-Cokato Board Room of the Dassel-Cokato Schools, Cokato, Minnesota, on Monday, April 12, 2010.
Board Chairman Kevin Dahlman called the meeting to order at 7:00 PM.
The following members were present: Dahlman, Bender, McConkey, Tormanen, Bjork, and Linder. The following were absent: none. Members of the community and administration were also present.
The meeting began with the pledge of allegiance.
Motion by Linder, seconded by Bender, accepting the agenda as presented. Motion carried unanimously.
Four students from Cokato Elementary reported on their school and answered question from board members.
Two students from the middle school presented on their school and answered questions from board members.
Gifted and Talented Coordinator Gary Johnson presented a report on the District’s Gifted and Talented program to the board including the opportunities at each grade level and the process use to qualify students for the Odyssey program.
Student Board Representative Duncan reported on the High School Student Council sponsored benefit for Chile and Haiti that was held on 4-9-10. The benefit raised over $1000.00.
Being no further business the meeting adjourned at 8:21 PM
