The regular meeting of the Board of Education of Independent School District 879, Delano, Minnesota, was held on Monday, October 25, 2010, at the Delano City Hall. The meeting was called to order by the chair at 7:00 PM with the following members in attendance: Douglas, Johnson, Osmon, Bodin, and Brasket. Absent: Milano, Seguin

CONSENT AGENDA (approved unanimously)
Board approved the regular meeting minutes of 9-25-10, the current budget status with year to date adjustments, wire transfers, Minnesota Liquid Assets fund, cash report, revenue and expense fund totals, expense reports and disbursements; and donations.
PERSONNEL
Board approved resignation of DES Special Ed Para; hiring 5 TAC Student Aids; DES Gr. 3 Teacher, DES Long Term Sub; Contracts for ES Curr Assessment Coor., TAC Gymnastics Instructor, 1 DHS and 2 DES Para’s increase in hours, Supt’s Contract and Paraprofessional’s contract; and Leave for DES Spec Ed Teacher.
ADMINISTRATIVE AND BOARD REPORTS
Board heard the following administrative reports: Supt. Sweet reported on the weather policy and Veterans Day Program., HS , MS and ES Principals. reported on their 2010-11 Improvement Plans; Business Mgr reported the audit will be presented next month; CE Director reported the CE Improvement Plan.
Board heard reports from board members regarding MAWSECO, Wright Technical Center, Community Educ Advisory Council, Curriculum Advisory Council, Schools for Equity in Educ., Delano Area Sports Arena, Safe Schools, Staff Dev. and City/School Task Group.

The meeting adjourned at 9:18 p.m. The preceding is a summary of the official minutes. CITY OF DELANOCOUNTY OF WRIGHTSTATE OF MINNESOTAORDINANCE No: O-10-10
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 51.03, SUBD. N (SIGNS) OF THE DELANO ZONING ORDINANCE RELATING TO SIGNS FOR AUTOMOBILE DEALERSHIPS AND AUTOMOBILE SALES LOTS.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DELANO, MINNESOTA ORDAINS:
SECTION 1. Section 51.03, Subd. N.7.b of Chapter 51 (Zoning and Land Use Code) is hereby amended to read as follows:
b. Automobile Dealerships and Automobile Sales Lots Signs.
1) Signs for automobile sales lots shall be regulated by the zoning district standards. In addition, for every two hundred (200) feet of street frontage, the business may have one (1) additional pylon/freestanding sign not to exceed to the zoning district area and height standards.
2) For sales lots on sites in excess of five (5) acres, a freestanding sign may be allowed for every one hundred (100) feet of frontage provided that:
a) The site frontage is on an arterial street as identified by the Delano Comprehensive Plan.
b) The freestanding signs shall not exceed the sign area and height restrictions of the respective zoning district.
c) The freestanding signs shall maintain a fifty (50) foot setback from other freestanding signs on the same site.
d) Any future change of use from an auto dealership or auto sales lot to another commercial use, or a reduction of the site size below five (5) acres, will require the removal of a freestanding sign to meet the applicable district standards.
THIS AMENDMENT SHALL BE IN FULL FORCE AND EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY FOLLOWING ITS PASSAGE AND PUBLICATION.
