Request for Quotes for Lawn Mowing Service
Notice is hereby given that quotations will be received by Delano Public School District #879 for lawn mowing services for the 2011 and 2012 mowing seasons. Quotations will be received at the Delano Public Schools Administration Office, 700 Elm Avenue East, Delano, Minnesota 55328 until 10:00 a.m., Monday, March 16, 2011.
Quotation requirements and specifications are available for interested vendors at the Delano Public Schools Administration Office, 700 Elm Avenue East, Delano, Minnesota 55328 or by calling 763-972-3365, ext. 2111.
The Board reserves the right to reject any and all quotes or parts of such quotes, accept quotes it deems to be in its best interest, to waive any informalities or irregularities in quotes submitted and waive minor irregularities or discrepancies in quotation procedure.

ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS
1.1 PROJECT INFORMATION
A. Notice to Bidders: Qualified bidders may submit bids for project as described in this Document. Submit bids according to the Instructions to Bidders.
1. Regulatory Requirements: Minn. Stat. 16B98 for Grants Management, Minn. Stat. Chap 177.41 regarding prevailing wage rates and contract and corresponding Rules 5200.1000 to 5200.1120., Secretary of the Interior’s Standards for Historic Preservation Projects, Minn. Historical Society Guidelines for the renovation of historic spaces (see http.//www.nps.gov/history/hsp/tps/tax/rhp/guide/html) shall govern submittal, opening, and award of bids.

E. Project Description: Project consists of Demolition and installation of rehabilitation of the front façade of the Delano village hall.
F. Construction Contract: Bids will be received for the following Work:

1.2 BID SUBMITTAL AND OPENING
A. Owner will receive sealed lump sum bids until the bid time and date at the location given below. Owner will consider bids prepared in compliance with the Instructions to Bidders issued by Owner, and delivered as follows:

2. Bid Time: 9:00 am
3. Location: City Hall, Conference Room, 234 – 2nd St. N. Delano, MN 55328
B. Bids will be thereafter publicly opened and read aloud.
1.3 BID SECURITY
A. Bid security shall be submitted with each bid in the amount of 5% (five percent) of the bid amount. No bids may be withdrawn for a period of 30 (thirty) days after opening of bids. Owner reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive informalities and irregularities.
1.4 PREBID MEETING
A. Pre-bid Meeting: A Pre-bid meeting for all bidders will be held March 14, 2011 AT 10 AM at Delano Village Hall 140 Bridge Ave. E., Delano, MN 55328. Prospective prime bidders are required to attend.
1.5 DOCUMENTS
A. Printed Procurement and Contracting Documents: Obtain after March 1, 2011, by contacting Marlene E Kittock at Delano City Hall, 2324 – 2nd St. N., Delano, MN 55328. Documents will be provided to prime bidders only; only complete sets of documents will be issued.
1. Deposit: $100.00 to the City of Delano.
2. Shipping: Additional shipping charges of $25.00 will apply.

1.6 TIME OF COMPLETION [ AND LIQUIDATED DAMAGES]
A. Successful bidder shall begin the Work on receipt of the Notice to Proceed and shall complete the Work within the Contract Time.
1.7 BIDDER’S QUALIFICATIONS
A. Bidders must be properly licensed under the laws governing their respective trades and be able to obtain insurance and bonds required for the Work. A Performance Bond, separate Labor and Material Payment Bond, and Insurance in a form acceptable to Owner will be required of the successful Bidder.

SPECIAL SCHOOL BOARD MEETING February 22, 2011
Delano Public SchoolsIndependent School District #879, Delano, Minnesota
The meeting was called to order at 6:00 p.m. by Board Chair Peter Brasket with the following members present: Peter Brasket, Tim Douglas, Sarah Baker, Amy Johnson, Lisa Seguin, Carolyn Milano and Erica Frake.
The board reviewed how the District’s cost per pupil and operating levy compared with neighboring school districts, which shows Delano spending $8,204 in FY09, which is the third lowest in the group with the third lowest operating levy of $426 per pupil as well.
The board reviewed several scenarios regarding the renewal/increase of the operating levy and the tax impacts.
The consensus of the board was to hold informational meetings in the coming months to inform and seek input on how the board should proceed regarding the renewal/increase of the operating levy at the November 1, 2011 election.
The board reviewed the cost savings and procedures in establishing one polling place for school district elections that are not held on the same day as state-wide elections.
The board reviewed enrollment projections for 2011-12 and the effects of not replacing positions through attrition.

Regular Meeting of the Board of Education
Independent School District 879, Delano Public Schools
January 24, 2011
The regular meeting of the Board of Education of Independent School District 879, Delano, Minnesota, was held on Monday, January 24, 2011, at Delano City Hall. The meeting was called to order by the chair at 7:00 PM with the following members in attendance: Douglas, Johnson, Milano, Seguin, Baker, Frake and Brasket. Absent: none
CONSENT AGENDA (approved unanimously)
Board approved the regular meeting minutes of 12-20-10 and organizational meeting of 1-3-11, the current budget status with year to date adjustments, wire transfers, Minnesota Liquid Assets fund, cash report, revenue and expense fund totals, expense reports and disbursements; and donations.
PROGRAM REVIEW – Wright County Safe Schools
PERSONNEL
Board approved resignation of DES Para; hiring of DES Long-Term Sub, MS/HS Long Term Sup, DMS Spec Ed Para, Gr. 8 Softball coach, Track Asst. Coach, Girls Head Track Coach, Asst. Golf Coach and ES Para.
ADMINISTRATIVE AND BOARD REPORTS
Board heard the following administrative reports: Supt. Sweet reported on CE video, Nurse Award and WCC restructure; MS Princ. recapped Nov. activities and bullying, HS Princ. reported on registration guide, new courses and in-service, ES Princ reported on workshop and conferences; Athletic Dir. Reported on Wright Cty Conference; Bus. Mgr reviewed financial board reports, and CE Director’s reported on registration & programs.
Board heard reports from board members regarding MAWSECO, Wright Technical Center, Community Educ Advisory Council, Curr. Advisory Council, Schools for Equity in Educ., Delano Area Sports Arena, Safe Schools, Staff Dev. Buildings & Grounds and City/School Task Group.
