CITY OF DELANOORDINANCE 11-01
Ordinance amending City Code Chapter 2 (Operations and Administration) by adding Section 204.01, Subd. 6., regarding Residency Requirements for members of Boards, Commissions and Task Forces of the City of Delano.
WHEREAS, the City of Delano frequently advertises for, solicits and appoints qualified citizens to serve on various Boards, Commissions and Task Forces, and
WHEREAS, the City Code states that an applicant or member of an Advisory Board, Commission or Task Force must be a resident of the City, and
WHEREAS, the City Council has determined that persons who are not residents within the corporate limits of the City of Delano, but that own improved real property located either within a commercial or industrial zoned district, have value and vested interest in the community and thus should be appointed to the Advisory Board, Commissions or Task Forces.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE DELANO CITY COUNCIL HEREBY ORDAINS THAT:
Subdivision 6 (Residency) of Section 204.01 (Boards, Commissions and Task Force) of Chapter 2 (Operations and Administration) is added as follows:
Subd. 6. Residency: Any member of an Advisory Board, Commission or Task Force must either be a resident of the City of Delano, or if not a resident of the City of Delano, a person who owns improved real property located either within a commercial or industrial zoned district within the corporate limits of the City of Delano.
This amendment shall be in full force and effective immediately following its passage and publication.
This Ordinance adopted by the Mayor and Council this 15th Day of March, 2011.
