The regular meeting of the Board of Education of Independent School District 879, Delano, Minnesota, was held on Monday, August 22, 2011, at the Delano City Hall. CONSENT AGENDA (approved unanimously)
Board approved the regular meeting minutes of 7-25-11, the current budget status with year to date adjustments, investment transactions, wire transfers, Minnesota Liquid Assets fund, cash report, revenue and expense fund totals, expense reports and disbursements; and donations.
PERSONNEL (approved unanimously)
Board approved resignations DES Speech/Language Pathologist, DMS Grade 7 Math Teacher, DES Paraprofessional, Grade 8 Softball Coach, DHS/DMS Cafeteria Computer Operator; hiring DES part-time Custodian, DHS Language Arts Long-term Substitute, TAC Pool Instructor, DES Paraprofessional, DES Paraprofessional, DMS part-time Vocal Music Teacher; Contract Changes for DMS re-assignment to Grade 5-7 Mathematics; DMS Grade 5 Teacher FMLA, DMS Grade 6 Teacher FMLA.
ADMINISTRATIVE AND BOARD REPORTS
Board heard the following administrative reports: Supt. Sweet reported on fall enrollment, fund transfer and complimented custodial staff; MS Prin R Klinkner reported on SIMP goal, number of new students, staff preparing for new classes and/or taking courses and workshops over summer to prepare for the new year, and she commended C Bruhn and D Findley for getting the office ready for the new year. HS Prin M Schoen reported on AP results and summer intervention classes; ES Prin D Schuler reported total enrollment at the ES, preparing for upcoming workshops and orientations, and 1st Grade Reading assessments; Bus Mgr reported that the budget will be updated to reflect the new legislative changes in October; and CE Dir reported Intergenerational Arts project, concerts in the park, summer enrichment classes, boiler and drama storage room projects, and upcoming registration dates for ECFE and TKC.
Board heard reports from bd members regarding MAWSECO, Wright Technical Ctr, Community Educ Advisory Council, Curriculum Advisory Council, Schools for Equity in Educ., Delano Area Sports Arena, Safe Schools, Staff Dev., City/School Task Group and Activities.

MONTROSE PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSIONPUBLIC NOTICEAPPLICATION FOR A CONDITIONAL USE PERMITNOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that on Wednesday, September 21, 2011 at the MONTROSE Planning and Zoning Commission meeting which begins at 7:00 pm, a public hearing will be held at the MONTROSE Community Center to consider the Application for a Conditional Use Permit as submitted by JC Clark LLC
The application, if approved, would allow for the continuation of the present siding with the future expansion of the building.
All persons interested are invited to attend said hearing and be heard on this matter.

CITY OF DELANONOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING ON INTENTION TO ISSUEGENERAL OBLIGATION CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PLAN BONDSAND THE PROPOSAL TO ADOPT A CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PLAN THEREFORE
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN, that the City Council of the City of Delano, Minnesota, will meet on September 20, 2011, at 7:00 p.m. at the City Hall, 234 2nd Street North, in Delano, Minnesota, for the purpose of conducting a public hearing on (a) the intention to issue general obligation capital improvement plan bonds in an amount not to exceed $1,650,000 and (b) the proposal to adopt a capital improvement plan therefore. The proceeds of the bonds will be used to acquire the City Hall from the Economic Development Authority of the City of Delano (the “EDA”) by refunding the EDA’s outstanding Public Facility Lease Revenue Bonds, Series 2002C, in anticipation of reducing debt service costs to the City pursuant to Minnesota Statutes, Section 475.521.
All persons interested may appear and be heard at the time and place set forth above.
If a petition requesting a vote on the issuance of the bonds is signed by voters equal to five percent of the votes cast in the City in the last general election and is filed with the City within thirty days after the public hearing, the bonds may only be issued upon obtaining the approval of the majority of the voters voting on the question of issuing the bonds.
Individuals unable to attend the public hearing can make written comment by writing to the City Clerk, Delano City Hall, P.O. Box 108, Delano, Minnesota 55328-0108. Written comments must be received prior to the date and time of the public hearing.
