The regular meeting of the Board of Education of Independent School District 879, Delano, Minnesota, was held on Monday, October 24, 2011, at the Delano City Hall. CONSENT AGENDA (approved unanimously)
Board approved the regular meeting minutes of 9-26-11, the current budget status with year to date adjustments, investment transactions, wire transfers, Minnesota Liquid Assets fund, cash report, revenue and expense fund totals, expense reports and disbursements; and donations.
PERSONNEL (approved unanimously)
Board approved terminations of TKC Coordinator, DES Paraprofessional, TKC Paraprofessional; hiring three TKC Paraprofessionals, three TKC Student Aides, TKC Classroom Assistant, Assistant Gymnastics Coach, DMS Full-time Paraprofessional, TAC WSI Teacher; Contract/Assignment Changes/Approvals two DES Paraprofessionals; Leaves of Absence for two Community Education TKC Paraprofessionals and DMS Language Arts Teacher.
ADMINISTRATIVE AND BOARD REPORTS
Board heard the following administrative reports: Supt. Sweet reported it is time to start planning for weather-related school closings and delays and also noted Veterans Day Program being held on November 11. MS Prin R Klinkner reported on FY12 School Improvement Plan and Homework Help. HS Prin M Schoen reported on FY12 School Improvement Plan; ES Prin D Schuler reported FY12 School Improvement Plan and upcoming events; Bus Mgr reported on first P Card rebate received; and CE Dir reported on FY12 Continuous Improvement Plan.
Board heard reports from bd members regarding MAWSECO, Wright Technical Ctr, Community Educ Advisory Council, Curriculum Advisory Council, Schools for Equity in Educ., Delano Area Sports Arena, Safe Schools, Staff Dev., and City/School Task Group.

MONTROSE PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSIONPUBLIC NOTICEAPPLICATION FOR A VARIANCE
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that on Wednesday November 16, 2011 at the MONTROSE Planning and Zoning Commission meeting which begins at 7:00 p.m., a public hearing will be held at the MONTROSE Community Center to consider the Application for a Variance as submitted by Michael and Sarah Brenny, for the property located at 361 Nelson Blvd., Montrose MN 55362.
The Variance, if approved, would allow for an expansion of the original garage located at 361 Nelson Blvd., Montrose MN 55362.
