French Lake Township
Driveway Snowplowing Notice
Residents who want to have their driveway plowed by the township may sign up by sending an advance fee of $150 for the 2011-2012 snow season. The fee can be mailed to the township Clerk at 15460 County Road 37 NW, Annandale, MN 55302.
The advance fee is payable by November 1st, 2011.
*New residents wanting this service must call the township Clerk prior to sending the advance fee.
Snowplowing Policy
1. Low hanging branches and trees must be trimmed at least 14 feet above the driveway. Low hanging limbs have damaged township equipment in the past.
2. The township plows will plow and wing out a driveway going in and coming out of the driveway - we do not clean yards. The plows need a large area to turn equipment around. Keep vehicles and other equipment clear of area.
3. Driveways will not be plowed if the ground is not frozen.

WHEREAS, the city council of Cokato has adopted Ordinance No. 05-2011, an ordinance amending sections 51.041 and 51.055 of the city code regarding the discharge of stormwater into the sanitary sewer system; and
WHEREAS, Minnesota Statutes, §412.191, subd. 4, allows publication by title and summary in the case of lengthy ordinances or those containing charts or maps; and
WHEREAS, the ordinance is 6 pages in length; and
WHEREAS, the city council believes the following summary would clearly inform the public of the intent and effect of the ordinance.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the city council of the city of Cokato that the city clerk shall cause the following summary of Ordinance No. 05-2011 to be published in the official newspaper in lieu of the entire ordinance:
Public Notice
The city council of the city of Cokato has adopted Ordinance No. 05-2-11, an ordinance amending the city’s code of ordinances regarding the discharge of stormwater into the city’s sanitary sewer system and related matters. The ordinance prohibits the discharge of stormwater into the sanitary sewer system because such water is relatively clean and does not require the expensive treatment afforded effluent in the sanitary sewers. The city may require an inspection of a property to verify that sources of stormwater, including sump pumps, foundation drainage systems and roof drains, are not being discharged into the sanitary sewer. As an alternative, a property owner may produce a certificate of compliance from a licensed plumber. Certain restrictions apply to new construction for which a building permit is issued after November 1, 2011. The ordinance also establishes a “point of sale” requirement whereby no property may be offered for sale or sold without verifying compliance with the drainage requirements or making financial arrangements to ensure necessary corrective work is performed following sale. The point of sale provision applies to all transactions after December 31, 2011. The full text of Ordinance No. 05-2011 is available for inspection at Cokato city hall during regular business hours.
/s/ Peggy L. Carlson, City Clerk
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the city council of the city of Cokato that the city clerk keep a copy of the ordinance in her office at city hall for public inspection and that she post a full copy of the ordinance in a public place within the city.
