CITY OF HOWARD LAKE COUNTY OF WRIGHT STATE OF MINNESOTA
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 2 AND CHAPTER 81 OF ORDINANCE 17.01 ADOPTED DECEMBER 18, 2007 AND ENTITLED “HOWARD LAKE ZONING ORDINANCE” TO INCLUDE “CREMATORY” AS A CONDITIONAL USE IN THE 1-2 GENERAL INDUSTRIAL DISTRICT.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF HOWARD LAKE ORDAINS:
Section 1. Chapter 2, Section 2 (Definitions) of the Howard Lake Zoning Ordinance is hereby amended to revise the following definition:
Cemetery: A parcel or tract of land used or intended to be used for the burial of the dead including columbariums and mausoleums.
Section 2. Chapter 2. Section 2 (Definitions) of the Howard Lake Zoning Ordinance is hereby amended to include the following definition:
Crematory: A state licensed facility for the purposes of cremation of human remains in such a manner consistent with State statutes.
Section 3. Chapter 81, Section 4 (I-2 General Industrial Conditional Uses) of the Howard Lake Zoning Ordinance is hereby amended to include the following use:
H. Crematory. Provided it is greater than 350 feet from any residentially zoned property in the City.
Section 4. This ordinance is in effect upon publication.

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING ON PROPOSED IMPROVEMENT
CITY OF NEW GERMANY
2011 INFRASTRUCTURE IMPROVEMENT PROJECT
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN PURSUANT TO MINNESOTA STATUTES 429.031, SUBD. 1:
1. That a hearing will be held by the City Council of the City of New Germany on Tuesday, September 27, 2011, at 7:00 p.m., in the Council Chambers of the New Germany City Hall, 300 Broadway Street, New Germany, Minnesota, to consider the making of a public improvement in the City of New Germany consisting of, but not limited to, the reconstruction of the City’s sanitary sewer collection system, the water distribution system, adding sanitary sewer and water on Manning Street, reconstruction of streets to include concrete curb and gutter, and the repair of and addition of new sidewalks throughout the City, and to assess the benefited property for all or a portion of the cost of the improvement, pursuant to Minnesota Statutes Chapter 429.
2. The area proposed to be assessed for such improvement is the property abutting on or benefited by the improvement.
3. The estimated cost of the improvement is $6,260,000.00.
4. A reasonable estimate of the impact of the assessment will be available at the hearing and a reasonable estimate of the total amount to be assessed and a description of the methodology used to calculate individual assessments for affected parcels will also be available at the hearing.
5. Any person who desires to be heard with reference to the proposed improvement will be heard at this meeting.
A copy of the engineer’s feasibility study for the project is available for review at City Hall during normal business hours.
