The organizational meeting of the Board of Education of Independent School District 879, Delano, Minnesota, was held on Thursday, January 5, 2012, at Delano City Hall. The meeting was called to order by the chair at 7:00 PM with the following members in attendance: Johnson, Milano, Baker, Seguin, Durick and Brasket. Absent: Frake
Resignation of Erika Kluge Frake -2 year term expiring 12-30-12: approved unanimously
ELECTION OF OFFICERS (approved unanimously): Chairperson – Amy Johnson; Vice Chair – Randy Durick; Clerk – Carolyn Milano; Treasurer – Lisa Seguin
Board unanimously approved Agenda, Annual Designations, Employee bonds, Official newspaper, School Board compensation, School attorneys, Memberships, Federal grants, Delegate authority to make electronic fund transfers, Signatures for Elementary Activity Fund, Prepayment of bills, Mileage reimbursement rate, Official depositories, School Board regular meeting times and dates for 2012, and Renewed Board Operating Protocol.
Board approved unanimously the member appointments to committees and representatives.
Other Business: Harlan Lewis expressed concern that there is not a student representative on the School Board, either as a member or ad hoc.
Dr. Sweet and the Board discussed the superintendent search process.
The meeting adjourned at 7:39 p.m. The preceding is a summary of the unofficial minutes. The next regular meeting of the Board of Education will be held on Monday, January 23, 2012 at 7:00 p.m. at Delano City Hall.

CITY OF DELANOORDINANCE NO. O-11-07ORDINANCE AMENDING DELANO CITY CODE SECTION 416.01 (“MINNESOTA STATE BUILDING CODE ADOPTED”)
The city of Delano ordains as follows:
Section 1. Delano City Code Section 416.01, Subd. 3 is amended as follows:
Subd.3. Permits and Fees. The issuance of permits and the collection of fees shall be as authorized in Minnesota Statute 326B.101 thru 326B.194 as provided for in Chapter 1 of the 1997 Uniform Building Code and Minnesota Rules Parts 1305.0106 and 1305.0107. In addition a surcharge shall be collected on all permits issued for work governed by the Code in accordance with Minnesota Statute 326B.148.
Subd. 3.01. Fixed Fees. Certain fixed fees for building permits are fixed by the Minnesota State Building Code. Attached Exhibit A is a list of those fixed permit fees and incorporates certain fixed Zoning Fees to be collected by the City of Delano.
Section 2. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect upon its passage and publication.
ADOPTED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF DELANO MINNESOTA THIS 20th DAY OF DECEMBER, 2011.
