Kingston Township Swimming lessons
Kingston Township will be holding Swimming lessons on July 9 – 19 from 12:30 till 3:30 p.m. at the Watkins pool. Any interested Kingston Township resident/property owner is eligible for this program. Sign up will be June 9 at the Kingston Community Center from 11:00 AM till noon. If unable to attend sign-up, call (320) 398-8400, township clerk. There will not be any sign-up for Kingston Township through the Watkins pool.

An ordinance granting to Northern States Power Company, A Minnesota Corporation, d/b/a xcel energy its successors and assigns, permission to ERECT A GAS DISTRIBUTION SYSTEM FOR THE PURPOSES OF constructING, operatING, repairING and maintainING in the City of DASSEL, Minnesota, THE NECESSARY GAS PIPES, MAINS and appurtenances FOR THE TRANSMISSION OR DISTRIBUTION OF GAS to the City AND its inhabitants and others and TRANSMITTING GAS INTO AND THROUGH THE CITY AND to use the public GROUNDS and public WAYS of the city for such purposes.
EFFECTIVE DATE. This ordinance shall take effect upon its summary publication in the City’s official newspaper.

An ordinance granting to Northern States Power Company, A Minnesota Corporation, d/b/a xcel energy its successors and assigns, permission to construct, operate, repair and maintain in the City of DASSEL, Minnesota, an electric distribution system and transmission lines, including necessary poles, lines, fixtures and appurtenances, for the furnishing of electric energy to the City, its inhabitants, and others, and to use the public GROUNDS and public WAYS of the city for such purposes.
EFFECTIVE DATE. This ordinance shall take effect upon its summary publication in the City’s official newspaper.

CITY OF DASSELCOUNTY OF MEEKERSTATE OF MINNESOTA
PUBLIC NOTICE DIRECTING OWNERS AND OCCUPANTS OF PROPERTY WITHIN THE CITY OF DASSEL TO DESTROY WEEDS, GRASSES AND RANK VEGETATION AS SET FORTH IN 92.35 THROUGH 92.42 OF THE DASSEL CITY CODE
The Dassel City Code requires that the City publish a public notice yearly directing owners and occupants of property within the City to destroy all weeds declared to be a nuisance by Section 92.37 of the City Code. The weeds, grasses or rank vegetation must be destroyed within ten (10) days after publication of this notice.
Weeds Grasses and Rank Vegetation are defined to include, but are not limited to the following:
a. Noxious weeds and rank vegetation as set forth in Section 92.37, of the City Code.
b. Grapevines when growing in groups of 100 or more and not pruned, sprayed, cultivated, or otherwise maintained for two consecutive years.
c. Bushes of the species of tall, common, or European barberry, further known as berberis vulgaris or its horticultural varieties.
d. Any weeds, grass or plants, other than trees, bushes, flowers or other ornamental plants, growing to a height exceeding 12 inches.
e. Rank vegetation includes the uncontrolled, uncultivated growth of annuals and perennial plants.
f. The term weeds does not include shrubs, trees, cultivated plants or crops.
In no event shall cultivated plants or crops include plants which have been defined by state statute or administrative rule as being noxious or detrimental plants.
In the event that an owner or occupant of a property within the City fails to destroy weeds, grasses or rank vegetation as defined by the City Code within ten (10) days of the publication of this notice the City’s designated authority will cut and remove or destroy the weeds, grasses or rank vegetation from the property at the sole expense of the property owner. The City’s costs include all costs related to removal, cutting or destruction of the weeds, grasses or rank vegetation, as well as any collection costs, court costs, attorney’s fees and interest on any unpaid amounts.
In the event that the costs incurred by the City are not promptly paid, all costs as well as interest, will be assessed against the property pursuant to Minnesota Statute 429.101.
The City reserves all rights to alternatively enforce this Section of the City Code including, but not limited to, Administrative Enforcement under Chapter 35 of the City Code.

The City of Dassel will hold a public hearing to accept comments on the Dassel 2012 Improvement Project. The Facility Plan, prepared by Bolton & Menk Inc., addresses capital improvements including street reconstruction, replacement of sanitary sewer mains, a lift station, watermains, and storm sewer mains, that are necessary to maintain the city’s infrastructure. The facility plan addresses the following locations:
• Maple Street Lift Station
• William Avenue: from 5th Street North to Guy Street
• 4th Street: from Parker Avenue to William Avenue
• Guy Street (easement): from north of Horace Avenue to Lake Street
All interested parties are encouraged to attend the public hearing and provide comments.
