MinutesRegular Meeting of the Board of Education Independent School District 879, Delano Public Schools
The regular meeting of the Board of Education of Independent School District 879, Delano, Minnesota, was held on Monday, February 25, 2013, at Delano City Hall. The meeting was called to order by the chair at 7:04 PM with the following members in attendance: Johnson, Baker, Milano, Seguin, Durick, Black, and Larson. Absent: None.
APPROVAL OF MEETING AGENDA (approved unanimously): amendment to the agenda removing Item C from Personnel Matters and tabling it until the next meeting.
PROGRAM REVIEW – Long Lake Conservation Camp – Mr. Berggren
Mr. Berggren reviewed the 5th Grade annual trip to Long Lake Conservation Camp.
CONSENT AGENDA (approved unanimously)
Board approved the regular meeting minutes of 1-28-13, the current budget status with year to date adjustments, investment transactions, wire transfers, Minnesota Liquid Assets fund, cash report, revenue and expense fund totals, expense reports and disbursements.
PERSONNEL (approved unanimously): Item C – Contract Changes/Approvals removed
Board approved recommendations of employment TAC Lifeguard, TAC Personal Trainer, DHS JV Girls Lacrosse Coach, DHS Varsity Boys Lacrosse Coach and DHS Varsity Girls Lacrosse Coach.
PUBLIC COMMENT
Harlan Lewis challenged the School Board to have a student representative on the Board.
ADMINISTRATIVE AND BOARD REPORTS
Board heard the following administrative reports: Supt. Schoen reported on the Strategic Planning Process and School Board Recognition Week; MS Principal reported on NAEP testing, MDE student surveys, volunteering opportunities, alternative schedules for 7th & 8th Graders for FY15; HS Principal reported on registration, group heading to China and Counselor’s quarterly newsletter; ES Principal reported on reading to students, PIE’s Toast to Art night and Pennies for Patients fundraiser; Bus Mgr reported on requests for lawn mowing proposals; and CE Director presented on past and upcoming events in the Community Ed Department.
Board heard reports from board members regarding Wright Technical Ctr, Schools for Equity in Education (SEE), Safe Schools and Staff Development.
The meeting adjourned at 8:20 PM. The preceding is a summary of the unofficial minutes. The next regular meeting of the Board of Education will be held on Monday, March 18, 2013 at 7:00 PM in the Delano High School Media Center.

FRANKLIN TOWNSHIPNOTICE OF ANNUAL MEETINGAnd ELECTION OF OFFICERS
Notice is hereby given to the qualified voters of Franklin Township, County of Wright, State of Minnesota, that the Annual Election of Town Officers and Annual Town Meeting will be held on Tuesday, March 12, 2013. In case of inclement weather, the meeting and election may be postponed until March 19, 2013 the third Tuesday in March. The Board of Canvass will follow the election.
The Election Poll hours will be open from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. at which time the voters will elect:
ONE (1) SUPERVISOR FOR A THREE (3) YEAR TERM
The Annual Meeting will commence at 8:15 p.m. or shortly thereafter to conduct all necessary business prescribed by law.
