City of Cokato Seeks Volunteer Candidates
For Police Advisory Commission
A five (5) member advisory group along with council representation is charged with various duties and functions including the municipal budget, patrol hours of coverage, intergovernmental cooperation and public information programs. The commission also advises the city council on all matters concerning public safety within the city. Members are appointed for one (1) year term. Meetings are held on a quarterly basis at city hall. Special meeting may be scheduled as needed.
Commission applicants shall be residents of the city and willing to serve and are requested to submit an application. Appointments to the commission will be considered at the January/February council meeting.

CITY OF COKATO
RESOLUTION NO. 2013-24
RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING PUBLICATION OF ORDINANCE NO. 01-2013 BY TITLE AND SUMMARY
WHEREAS, the city council of the city of Cokato has adopted Ordinance No. 01-2013, an ordinance adding a new chapter 97 regarding outdoor storage of firewood and amending chapter 95 of the city code regarding public nuisances; and
WHEREAS, Minnesota Statutes, §412.191, subd. 4, allows publication by title and summary in the case of lengthy ordinances or those containing charts or maps; and
WHEREAS, the ordinance is three pages in length; and
WHEREAS, the city council believes that the following summary would clearly inform the public of the intent and effect of the ordinance.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the city council of the city of Cokato that the city clerk shall cause the following summary of Ordinance No. 01-2013 to be published in the official newspaper in lieu of the entire ordinance:
PUBLIC NOTICE
The city council of the city of Cokato has adopted Ordinance No. 01-2013, an ordinance adding a new chapter 97 regarding outdoor storage of firewood and amending chapter 95 regarding public nuisances. The ordinance allows firewood to be stored outdoors in residential areas so long as the firewood is for use on the property and not for sale or use off-site. The ordinance limits the size and location of firewood stacks and prescribes other requirements as well. Firewood stored in violation of the ordinance standards is declared to be a nuisance. The full text of Ordinance No. 01-2013 is available for inspection at Cokato city hall during regular business hours.

FILING NOTICE
Notice is hereby given that a Township Election in the Town of Cokato Township, County of Wright, State of Minnesota, will be held on March 11, 2014.
Affidavits of candidacy may be filed with the Town Clerk, 5363 Rhoades Ave. SW, Cokato, MN between the hours of 5 pm - 9 pm from December 31, 2013 to January 14, 2014 (filing closes at 5 pm on January 14) for the offices of:

Filing for Dassel Township offices will open on Tuesday, December 31, 2013 and will close on Tuesday, January 14, 2014. Filings are open for one supervisor for a 3-year term and one clerk for a 2-year term. File at the Township Clerk’s office at 650 Parker Avenue West - Dassel, MN. Notice is hereby given to qualified voters of Kingston Township, Meeker County, State of Minnesota, that filing for town office will be held for a two week period beginning December 31, 2013 through January 14, 2014. STOCKHOLM TOWNSHIP REMINDS RESIDENTS TO NOT PUSH SNOW ONTO ROADWAYS
The Stockholm Township Board reminds its residents that it is a violation of MN Statute 160.72, Subdivision 5 to push, plow, shovel or deposit snow in any form on the township roadways or township ditches. The violation is punishable as a misdemeanor. The Township Board asks for all its residents’ cooperation in this matter to ensure the safety of its maintenance crew(s) and the traveling public.
