CITY OF INDEPENDENCE
The City Council will hold a public hearing in the Council Chambers at 1920 County Road 90 on Tuesday, March 25, 2014 at 7:30 p.m. to review the following requests:
Ray and Carrie Caruso (Applicants/Owners) request that the City consider the following actions for the properties located at 3560 and 3610 County Road 90 (PID Nos. 11-118-24-32-0002 and 11-118-24-32-0003): vacation for that portion of the drainage and utility easement legally described as follows:
Easement to be Vacated
To vacate that part of the utility and drainage easement as dedicated on Lot 1, Block 2, Marsh Point West according to the recorded plat thereof, Hennepin County, Minnesota being a 10 foot wide strip of land which lies adjacent to the East line of said Lot 1. Except the South 10 feet and the Northwesterly 10 feet of said Lot 1.
The items highlighted above may have a direct or indirect effect on your property. All persons wishing to be heard with reference to these applications will be given the opportunity at this meeting. ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS
Sealed bids will be received by 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 15, 2014, opened and tabulated by the Public Works Director at 10:00 a.m. and considered by the City Council at its regular meeting on April 22, 2013 for the following:
• 3⁄4” Class 2 Limestone
• 1 1⁄2” Clear Limestone
• 1⁄2” Clear
• 1” Class 5 Limestone
• Winter Washed Sand
• Class 5 Recycled Conbit
• Class 5 gravel
Bids shall state the price per ton at the quarry, price per ton delivered and placed on City roads, and price per ton delivered to the City and stockpiled. Bids will also be accepted for hauling only.
Bid security in the amount of 5% for 6000 tons of Class 2 Limestone must accompany each bid. Bid security will not be required for all other products.
All bids shall be addressed to the Public Works Director, City of Independence, 1920 County Road 90, Independence, MN 55359, sealed and marked “ROAD MATERIALS.” No faxes will be accepted. A Certificate of Insurance is to be submitted at the time the bid is submitted.
The City of Independence reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive any information herein.

City of Loretto
Notice of Public Hearing
Official notice is hereby given, that the Loretto City Council will hold a public hearing on the Annual Storm Water Pollution Prevention Program (SWPPP) on Tuesday, April 8, 2014 at Loretto City Hall, 279 N. Medina Street, Council Chambers, at 7:30 p.m., or as soon as the matter may be heard. The purpose of the SWPPP Annual Meeting is to discuss the progress of implementing the program.
Interested residents and business owners are encouraged to attend.

Notice of Public Hearing
Official notice is hereby given that the Loretto City Council will hold a public hearing on Tuesday, April 8, 2014, at the Loretto City Hall, 279 Medina Street North, Council Chambers, at 7:00 PM, or as soon as the matter may be heard, to consider the application submitted by John L. Laurent & Associates, LLC (115 Railway Street West) for an Intoxicating Liquor License and Sunday Liquor License.

Regular Meeting of the Board of Education
Independent School District 879, Delano Public Schools
The regular meeting of the Board of Education of Independent School District 879, Delano, Minnesota, was held on Monday, March 17, 2014, at Delano City Hall. The meeting was called to order by the chair at 5:47 p.m. with the following members in attendance: Johnson, Milano, Durick, Larson, Baker, Seguin and Black.
APPROVAL OF MEETING AGENDA (approved unanimously)
WORK SESSION
Board reviewed discussion items: District Policies, Teacher Evaluation Tool, Strategic Plan Q3 Update, Student Representative Replacement Procedures, 2014 Legislative Update, FY15 Preliminary Budget.
PROGRAM REVIEW
Activities Update presented by M. Lindquist.
CONSENT AGENDA (approved unanimously)
Board approved the regular meeting minutes of 2-24-14 and special meeting minutes of 3-10-14, the current budget status with year-to-date adjustments, investment transactions, wire transfers, Minnesota Liquid Assets fund, cash report, revenue and expense fund totals, expense reports and disbursements.

ADMINISTRATIVE AND BOARD REPORTS
Board heard the following administrative reports: Superintendent Schoen reported on Strategic Plan progress, 2014 Legislative Session, and 2nd Act Middle School Auditorium Restoration Project community support. Ms. Klinkner reported on 2014-15 DMS schedule changes and Minnesota Middle School Principals Alliance Group. Dr. Heil thanked hockey coaches for years of service and reported on HS/MS Skyward training, SciTech Festival, DHS healthy living student survey, state testing, Prom, DHS students travelling to Spain and China, MS Auditorium Restoration Project, and social media concerns. Mr. Schuler reported on K-4 formative assessment for teachers research participation, thanked teachers/volunteers for service at elementary activities, 2014-15 hiring process, Kindergarten Roundup and Tiger Fun Fair. M. Reeder reported on upcoming School Board election. D. Johnson thanked Delano-Loretto Way for donations and reported on maintenance in the CE building, Tiger Kids Club registration, Wee Tiger Preschool registration, Early Childhood Health & Development Screening, Minnesota Reading Corps, Destination ImagiNation, SHARP, facilities and member management software. Alex Grant and Abbey Hutchins reported on Prom, DES National Blue Ribbon ceremony and Tiger Mascot community support, LLCC fundraiser, DMS I Love to Read month, DHS Solo and Ensemble contests, social media. Board heard reports regarding MAWSECO, Wright Technical Center and Schools for Equity in Education (SEE).
OLD BUSINESS (approved unanimously)
Approved second read of policies due to substantive and/or legal reference changes: Policy 410-Family and Medical Leave and Policy 413-Harassment and Violence.
NEW BUSINESS (approved unanimously)
Approved Dissolution of Girls Swimming Cooperative Sponsorship, 2014-15 School Calendar, Repeal of Policy 617-School District Ensurance of Preparatory and High School Standards due to change in Minnesota Statute, Profile of Learning and Middle School Surplus Equipment.
