PUBLIC HEARING NOTICE
2018 SUMMIT HILLS PROPOSED IMPROVEMENT PROJECT
Notice is hereby given that the City Council of Dassel will meet on Monday, April 16, 2018 at the City Hall at 7:00 p.m. to consider the 2018 Summit Hills Improvement Project, including improvements of Summit Cove, Hilltop Drive and 5th Street adjacent to the Summit Hills Addition, pursuant to Minnesota Statutes 429.011 to 429.111. The area proposed to be assessed for such improvement are properties located in the Summit Hills Addition. The estimated cost of the improvement is $742,800. A reasonable estimate of the impact of the assessment will be available at the hearing. Such persons as desire to be heard with reference to the proposed improvement will be heard at this meeting.

Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a special meeting of the Board of Education of Independent School District No. 466 (Dassel-Cokato, Minnesota) was duly held in the Dassel-Cokato Middle School Commons, Cokato, Minnesota, on Monday, February 12, 2018.
The following members were present: Aho, Clemen, Sangren, Bender, Engh and Nelson. The following were absent: none.
The board participated in a Community Listening Session led by MSBA consultants.
The session ended at 8:30 pm.

Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a special meeting of the Board of Education of Independent School District No. 466 (Dassel-Cokato, Minnesota) was duly held in the Dassel-Cokato Board Room, Cokato, Minnesota, on Monday, February 12, 2018.
Clemen called the meeting to order at 5:00 PM.
The following members were present: Aho, Clemen, Sangren, Bender, Engh and Nelson. The following were absent: none.
The meeting began with the pledge of allegiance.
Motion by Nelson, seconded by Bender, approving the agenda as printed. Motion carried unanimously.
Consultants from the MSBA led the board through a listening exercise.
Being no further business, the meeting adjourned at 5:50 pm.

Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a regular meeting of the Board of Education of Independent School District No. 466 (Dassel-Cokato, Minnesota) was duly held in the Dassel-Cokato Board Room, Cokato, Minnesota, on Monday, February 26, 2018.
Clemen called the meeting to order at 6:00 PM.
The following members were present: Clemen, Engh, Aho, Nelson, Sangren and Bender. The following were absent: None
The meeting began with the pledge of allegiance.
Motion by Nelson, seconded by Bender, accepting the agenda as presented. Motion carried unanimously.
Daniel Mages was presented with the Russell A. Johnson Courtesy and Respect Award.
Motion by Aho, seconded by Nelson, approving payment of bills as presented including payroll, hand payables and contingency totaling $2,001,892.39. Motion carried unanimously. (A complete list of bills is available from the District Office for review.)
Joe Latt, Beth Cronk, and Tonya Arneson address the board during Open Forum regarding a letter to the editor.
Curriculum Advisory Committee (CAC) Report: None
MAWSECO Report: Bender reported that MAWSECO was negotiating with employees
Community Education Report: None
Business Manager’s Report: Business Manager Palmer reported expenditures are in line with budget through the end of the eighth month of the fiscal year and reviewed the investment report with the board.

Superintendent’s Report – Explained the HS Principal Interview process and named the finalists
Motion by Bender, seconded by Aho, approving all consent items, which included approval of the minutes from January 22, 2018 Regular Board Meeting, January 22, 2018 Subcommittee Meeting Noncertified, January 29, 2018 Subcommittee Meeting Certified, February 12, 2018 Special Board Meeting, February 12, 2018 Special Board Meeting – MSBA Community Meeting, February 15, 2018 Special Board Meeting – Strategic Planning Committee. Approval of the wire transfers made on January 23rd for $200,000, January 23rd for $335,500, January 31st for $625,000, February 9th for $150,000 and February 15th for $750,000. Motion by Aho, seconded by Nelson, approving the revised 2017-18 budget. Business Manager Palmer presented the budget which included minor overall changes from the original. Motion carried unanimously.
Motion by Bender, seconded by Sangren, authorizing the business manager to sell the vocational house. Motion carried unanimously.
Motion by Nelson, seconded by Engh, ratifying the following July 1, 2017 through June 30 2019 contracts:
Community Education & Activities Director’s Contract The terms of the agreement include an increase of 1.25% on salary in year one and 1.00% in year two, a $250 increase to health care savings plan and an increase to health savings account contribution of $175 in year one and $200 in year two.
Food Service Association’s contract The terms of the agreement include an increase of 2% on the salary schedule in year one and 1.75% in year two and an increase of $0.05 per hour for longevity pay.
Principal’s Association contract The terms of the agreement include an increase of 1.5% on the salary schedule in year one and in year two, a $100 increase to the life insurance cap, a $250 increase to 403b match contribution and an increase to health savings account contribution of $175 in year one and $200 in year two. Motion carried unanimously.
Chair Clemen moved the March Regular Board Meeting from 3/26 to 3/19.
