ISD 466 Call for Bids
On Vocational House
VOCATIONAL HOUSE: Bids will be accepted until Monday, April 30, 2018 at 1:00 pm CDT for the purchase of a three bedroom, 30x50 or 1,500 sq. ft. home constructed by Dassel-Cokato vocational carpentry students. Minimum bid is $39,300 plus MN Sales Tax, which is currently 6.875% for a total of $42,001.88. Features include:
• Maintenance free metal sofit and facia
• Maintenance free certainteed vinyl siding
• Andersen High Performance windows
• Electrical wiring performed by Lite Electric, Inc.
• Insulation is blown fiberglass with walls having R-23 and ceilings R-49, under the care of Ricky’s Insulation
• Plumbing roughed in by Hendrickson Plumbing & Heating
All necessary inspections have been completed by the MN Department of Labor and Industry. The home may be viewed by contacting Derek Levno at DC High School. All Bids must be submitted to Tina Palmer, Business Manager, ISD #466, 4852 Reardon Ave SW, Suite 1700, Cokato, MN 55321 and clearly marked “Vocational House Bid”.
All bids must state the bid price with an addition of the applicable state sales tax and the total of the bid plus tax. All bids must be accompanied by a cashier’s check payable to ISD #466 in the amount of 10% of the bid. This bid security will be kept by the district as liquidated damages in the event the high bidder does not purchase the house. The District reserves the right to waive irregularities and to reject any or all bids. The successful bidder must pay for the house by June 27, 2018 or forfeit bid security.
The house must be removed from school property by August 13, 2018, otherwise penalties will apply. Bids will be opened at 1:00 pm CDT, April 30th in the Dassel-Cokato Board Room and tabulated for the Board of Education consideration on Tuesday, May 29th, 2018, at 6:00 p.m.

UNOFFICIAL SCHOOL BOARD MINUTES I.S.D. #466, BOARD OF EDUCATION 6:30 PM STRATEGIC PLANNING COMMITTEE MEETING, MARCH 15, 2018 DASSEL-COKATO COMMUNITY ROOM
In partnership with our communities, Dassel-Cokato Public Schools will provide all learners opportunities designed to maximize their potential and promote lifelong learning.
Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a special meeting of the Board of Education of Independent School District No. 466 (Dassel-Cokato, Minnesota) was duly held in the Dassel- Cokato Community Room, Cokato, Minnesota, on Thursday, March 15, 2018.
The following members were present: Aho, Clemen, Sangren, Bender and Nelson. The following were absent: Engh.
The board participated in a Strategic Planning Activity led by MSBA consultants.
The meeting ended at 8:20 pm.

UNOFFICIAL SCHOOL BOARD MINUTES I.S.D. #466, BOARD OF EDUCATION 6:00 PM REGULAR BOARD MEETING, MARCH 19, 2018 DASSEL-COKATO BOARD ROOM
In partnership with our communities, Dassel-Cokato Public Schools will provide all learners opportunities designed to maximize their potential and promote lifelong learning.
Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a regular meeting of the Board of Education of Independent School District No. 466 (Dassel-Cokato, Minnesota) was duly held in the Dassel-Cokato Board Room, Cokato, Minnesota, on Monday, March 19, 2018.
Clemen called the meeting to order at 6:00 PM.
The following members were present: Clemen, Aho, Nelson, Sangren and Bender. The following were absent: Engh
The meeting began with the pledge of allegiance.
Motion by Aho, seconded by Nelson, accepting the agenda as presented. Motion carried unanimously.
Sylvie Moeys was presented with the Russell A. Johnson Courtesy and Respect Award.
Motion by Bender, seconded by Aho, approving payment of bills as presented including payroll, hand payables and contingency totaling $1,831,505.76 Motion carried unanimously. (A complete list of bills is available from the District Office for review.)
The Competitive Cheer Team made a brief presentation explaining their trip to Florida to compete and thanking the board and administration for the opportunity.

Business Manager’s Report: Business Manager Palmer reported expenditures are in line with budget through the end of the ninth month of the fiscal year and reviewed the investment report with the board.

Motion by Aho, seconded by Nelson, approving all consent items, which included approval of the minutes from the February 26, 2018 Subcommittee Meeting Certified, February 26, 2018 Regular Board Meeting, February 27, 2018 Special Board Meeting – Strategic Planning Committee, March 1, 2018 Special Meeting Certified Negotiations, March 12, 2018 Special Board Meeting, March 15, 2018 Special Board Meeting – Strategic Planning Committee. Approval of the wire transfers made on February 27th for $250,000, February 28th for $675,000, March 9th for $75,000 and March 15th for $875,000. Personnel items: Retirement/Resignation of Jean Abrahamson as a Speech/Language Pathologist at Cokato Elementary effective at the end of the school year,

Motion carried unanimously.
Motion by Nelson, seconded by Sangren, approving an out of state trip for Varsity Baseball to Wavelry, Iowa. Motion carried unanimously.
Motion by Bender, seconded by Aho, approving spending up to 75% of the 2018-19 budget in 2017-18. Motion carried unanimously.
Motion by Nelson, seconded by Bender, ratifying the July 1, 2018 through June 30, 2021 Superintendent’s contract which includes: an increase of 1.25% on the salary schedule in year one, two, and three, an increase to health savings account contribution of $175 in year one and $200 in year two and three, a $750 increase to health care savings plan, a $750 increase to 403b match contributions and the addition of 1 more vacation day. Motion carried unanimously.
Superintendent Powers reminded the board that nominations for the Edward H. Otto Partner in Public Education Award are due to the superintendent no later than April 15.
Being no further business, the meeting adjourned at 6:45 PM.
