Winsted City Council Minutes
Oct. 16, 2001
Present: Don Guggemos, Gary Lenz, Tom Ollig, Bonnie Quast, Tom Wiemiller
Staff: Attorney Eggert, Admstr. Mareck, Clerk Zachmann
Mayor called the meeting to order.
Lenz motioned to accept the minutes as written, Ollig seconded, unanimously carried.
Meter reading information was given in the agenda packet. After review of the customer, and history detail, Quast motioned to deny a request to reimburse for late reading, Ollig seconded, unanimously carried. Ollig stated the fees were consistent and everyone was charged accordingly for late readings.
Maintenance provided additional information for the Planer attachment to the Bobcat. After discussion, Lenz motioned to purchase the Planer for a cost of $2,860.00 added to the existing credit, Wiemiller seconded, unanimously carried.
After posting and conducting interviews, and upon recommendation from the Administrative Dept., Wiemiller motioned to hire Kerri Jones for temporary full time position at $13.00 hour, to fill a maternity leave position for five months, Quast seconded, unanimously carried.
Administrator Mareck requested the council consider a workshop to give direction to staff on issues pending. It was agreed to hold the workshop on Wednesday, Nov. 7th at 6:00 PM, prior to the regular council meeting.
Blight issues were brought up, and referred to the departments for notice to owners.
Ollig motioned to pay the following bills:
General Nos. 3284-4009 $50,823.68
Nos. 0450-10452 $8,273.99
Payroll Nos. 3987-3327 $12,392.62
Fire Dept. Nos. 3586-3592 $1,689.44
Lenz seconded, unanimously carried.
Mayor brought up the request for a thermal imaging camera for firemen's use. The request will be looked at when the final budget is reviewed.
Lenz motioned to adjourn, Quast seconded, unanimously carried.
