Present: Don Guggemos, Tom Ollig, Bonnie Quast, Tom Wiemiller

Staff: Attorney Eggert, Brent Mareck, Betty Zachmann

7:00 Public Hearing

Mayor called for the Public Hearing for Truth & Taxation, 2004 Tax Levy.

One person was present with questions related to valuations and was referred to the Assessor. No written comments were received.

Council reviewed the final 2004 budget and discussed the cut in State aids and other decreases and increases. After review, Ollig motioned to adopt Resolution No. 422-12-17-03, establishing the 2004 Tax Levy of:

General Levy $566,727.00

Bond & Interest $313.350.00

TOTAL LEVY $880,077.00

Quast seconded, unanimously carried.

Ollig motioned to close the Public Hearing, Wiemiller seconded, unanimously carried.

Doug Bebo was present, council requested Bebo furnish a request in writing for utility bill discrepancy.

SEH, Tom Homme was present with plans and timetable for Phase II of the Interceptor relining project. Ollig motioned to approve the plans and specifications, instructed bidding process to begin, with opening of bids on Jan. 28, 2004, and action from the council at Feb. 3rd meeting, Quast seconded, unanimously carried.

Ollig motioned to enter into an Assessment Agreement with McLeod County for taxing year 2004, not to exceed $8,000.00, Quast seconded, unanimously carried.

Quast motioned to allow Clerk to pay year end bills as needed, Ollig seconded, unanimously carried.

Wiemiller motioned to employ John Schlecter as part time snow removal, Ollig seconded, unanimously carried.

Wiemiller motioned to pay the following bills:

General Chk Nos. 5512-5561 $70,098.69

Chk Nos. 10779-10782 $11,121.96

Payroll Chk Nos. 5390-5406 $11,431.06

Fire Dept. Chk Nos. 3966-3971 $48,148.61

Quast seconded, unanimously carried.

Council requested research on repair bills of a Maintenance vehicle for next meeting.

With no other business, Quast motioned to adjourn the meeting, Ollig seconded, unanimously carried.
