Winsted City Council Minutes
JAN. 20, 2004, 7:00 PM
Present: Don Guggemos, Gerald Boldt, Tom Ollig, Tom Wiemiller, Bonnie Quast Staff: Brent Mareck, Betty Zachmann, Attorney Eggert
Mayor called the meeting to order.
Ollig motioned to approve the minutes as written, Wiemiller seconded, unanimously carried.
Discussion related to the proposed Fence Ordinance took place. Several scenario's were given, by example by Council members, and a party attending with an existing fence in need of replacement. Ollig motioned to adopt Ordinance No. 04-01, with one correction, empowering the Mayor and Clerk to sign, Boldt seconded, unanimously carried.
An update was given by Mareck for the local access channel project. Boldt motioned to purchase a character generator, and switcher, amount not to exceed $5,000.00, Wiemiller seconded, unanimously carried.
Mayor reported that a previous utility bill had been negotiated, with payment arrangement made.
2004 Appointments was tabled.
Ollig reported on the Metro calling line. Approval had been given by the Public Utilities Commission, and the process of voting will take place within the next three months. Additional information will be provided to the public prior to voting.
Mail box Ordinance was tabled.
2004 Fee schedule was tabled.
A petition for annexation from Holy Trinity Church was brought to council for action. Wiemiller motioned to adopt Resolution No. 422-01-20-04, Accepting Petition for Annexation, zoning as Industrial, Boldt seconded, Ollig abstained, motion carried.
Mareck gave a quarterly report of projects he has been working on, and requested the City acquire a lease with Waste Management. Quast motioned to lease to Waste Management for a period of 90 days, with one extension of 90 days, in order to provide outside storage of equipment, Boldt seconded, unanimously carried.
Quast motioned to pay the following bills:
