Winsted City Council Minutes
March 3, 2005

Staff Present: Brent Mareck, City Administrator, Mike Henrich, Chief of Police; Danny Salo, Police Officer; Glen Strom, Police Officer; Deb Boelter, City Clerk-Treasurer
Guggemos called the meeting to order at 4:30 p.m.
Guggemos stated that the purpose of the Special Meeting was to appoint a new Police Officer to the City of Winsted Police Department.
Henrich recommended that the Council appoint Jeremiah S. Jessen, pending his physical and drug screen results, as a Police Officer with the City of Winsted Police Department beginning employment on March 15, 2005.
Jessen asked to address the Council requesting that they consider increasing his starting wage from $14.39 per hour to the next step on the wage scale of $15.28 per hour. After discussion, the Council agreed that with ten years experience, they would approve the $15.28 per hour.
Henrich also recommended that Jessen be paid a uniform allowance of $895.91 for the years of 2005 and 2006 before March 15, 2005.
Ollig motioned to authorize the employment of Jeremiah S. Jessen, effective March 15, 2005, as a Police Officer with the City of Winsted Police Department, pending his physical and drug screen results, at $15.28 per hour and a uniform allowance of $895.91. Wiemiller seconded. Motion carried 2-0.
Ollig motioned to adjourn. Wiemiller seconded. Motion carried 2-0.
