Winsted Township Board Joint Meeting
July 12, 2005
Present: Mayor Don Guggemos, Council Member Tom Wiemiller, Council Member Bonnie Quast, Council Member Gerald Boldt, 8:20 p.m.
Absent: Council Member Tom Ollig
Staff Present: Brent Mareck, City Administrator; Deb Boelter, City Clerk-Treasurer
Winsted Township Board Members Present: Tony Hausladen, Chairman; Mike Laxen, Supervisor; Gary Wessling, Supervisor.
Winsted Township Clerk: Susan Goebel
Mayor Guggemos and Chairman Hausladen called the meeting to order at 8:00 p.m.
Council and Township Board members reviewed the minutes of the May 10, 2005 Joint Meeting between the City of Winsted and Winsted Township Board. Hausladen requested that the May 10, 2005 minutes state, “an Orderly Annexation agreement be adopted before the City accept any future annexation requests.”
David Wendorf, Attorney for Winsted Township, was present at the meeting and distributed a Draft Orderly Annexation agreement between the City of Winsted and the Township.
Wendorf highlighted the changes, as requested by the Township Board, to the Draft Orderly Annexation agreement. The Council and Township Board discussed the proposed Orderly Annexation agreement.
Wendorf asked the Council to give a draft marking of the City of Winsted’s proposed annexation area. Guggemos highlighted a possible annexation area to consider on a copy of the Winsted Plat.
Mareck addressed some concerns about how long it will take for the City and Township to adopt the Orderly Annexation agreement in regards to Millerbernd Design and Fabrication’s plans to expand. The Township will discuss at their meeting on July 14, 2005.
The City Attorney and the Council will review the proposed Orderly Annexation agreement, highlight a possible annexation area on a map, and discuss each with the Winsted Township Board at a joint meeting on Tuesday, July 26, 2005 at 7:00 p.m.
The Council agreed that they will not act on the Weibel annexation request until after the July 26, 2005 joint meeting.
Quast motioned to adjourn. Wiemiller seconded. Motion carried 3-0.
