JULY 18, 2000

CITY HALL

5:30 P.M.

Present: Floyd Sneer, Jeff Albers, Gary Lenz, Bob Kegler, Tom Wiemiller

Staff: Attorney Eggert, Aaron Reeves, Betty Zachmann, Attorney George Hoff

A CLOSED MEETING WAS HELD AT 5:30 TO DISCUSS THE LITIGATION OF THE OLD CITY HALL, AND OTHER ISSUES THAT WERE RELEVANT TO THE LAWSUIT.

Due to time constraints and the regularly scheduled meeting, Albers motioned to suspend the closed meeting until after adjournment of the regular meeting. Kegler seconded, unanimously carried.


REGULAR MEETING

7:00 PM

Mayor called the meeting to order.

Kegler motioned to accept the minutes of July 6th with the following corrections:

"The second meeting in the month of August will be held on Monday, Aug. 14th, and the Closed Meeting of litigation issues was held at 5:30 PM, prior to the regular meeting on July 18th, as posted."

Albers seconded, unanimously carried.

Tabled from the agenda was L Juncewski elevation error, and Cty. Rd. 1 drainage issues.

Lenz motioned to instruct the Maintenance Dept. to post the 30 MPH signs on Main Ave. W., from 6th St. to Grass Lake Road. Kegler seconded, unanimously carried.

Dick Genty representing the Legion Club was present requesting permits for its annual Legion Days Celebration on Aug. 11th, 12th, and 13th. After discussion, Kegler motioned to approve the following:

A carnival for Friday, Saturday, Sunday;

3.2 Non-Intoxicating Liquor License for the 11th, 12th and 13th;

Hold a parade on the 13th (Sunday) allowing horses;

Move the fence that surrounds the old city hall in several feet;

Hold dances on the 12th (Sat.) and 13th (Sun.);

Allow tent stakes into blacktop, requiring repairs after;

Move some low bleachers and some picnic tables from the parks.

Albers seconded, unanimously carried.

Wiemiller motioned to pay the following bills:

General 1722-2142 $82,045.49

Payroll 3499-3515 $10,376.86

Fire Dept. 3376-3382 $31,285.46

Lenz seconded, unanimously carried.

Albers motioned to make payment No. 2 to French Lake Curb & Gutter in the amount of $183,713.32. Lenz seconded, unanimously carried.

Kegler motioned to adopt Resolution No. 341-07-18-00, Authorizing the Execution of a Grant with the Dept. Of Public Safety, entitled Safe & Sober. Albers seconded, unanimously carried.

Wiemiller motioned to adopt Resolution No. 343, changing the polling place for elections to the new fire hall at 541 6th St. So., authorizing the Mayor and Clerk to sign. Lenz seconded, unanimously carried.

Kegler motioned to grant a 3.2 Non-Intoxicating Liquor License to the Civic & Commerce Assn., for Friday, July 21st from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM. Lenz seconded, unanimously carried.

Albers motioned to adjourn, Kegler seconded, unanimously carried.

CLOSED MEETING WAS THEN RECONVENED AT 7:55 PM.

Meeting closed at 8:25 PM.
